Caritas [Saturday evening] Three Minute Dates!

Robin still kind of had no idea how she'd wound up doing this, but it was funny and she could laugh and drink and just enjoy her post-Valentine's glow behind the bar while everyone else suffered.

And in the meanwhile, she set out a pretty little sign.

Three Minute Dates @ Caritas
Hosted by Robin Scherbatsky
Presented by loneliness and desperation*
* beer goggles recommended/necessary in some cases

That done, she wandered by to the stage to take the mic. "So, hi. You know how sometimes you're at a bar, and you just don't know how to talk to those pretty people you're eyeing? Or, you know, you want to know what the deal is with that creepy guy in the corner who won't stop staring? Well, tonight, we're taking all that guesswork out of it! Welcome to Three Minute Dates! I'm your hostess and deeply amused bartender, Robin Scherbatsky."

"So here's how it goes -- when I call your name plus someone else's, it'll be time for you to find that other person and either lemon law them or find your way to true love...slash a good one night stand! Or a bad one. It's part of the fun! And then lather, rinse and repeat for four more times, because yes, boys and girls, you're doing this five times."

[OOC: Three minutes equals ten comments for our purposes. That's five comments per person. Try your very best to get it wrapped up in that time. You do NOT have to do these in chronological order. Do them as people are available. Just try not to Joss yourself.

Remember, if you're violent, you'll be teleported out of the club and will have to make your way back. If you can't get through all of your dates today, you can sp, don't worry!

"It's a nice ring," he said. It... was a ring. And it was nice in that old-fashioned term of the word from the old Gaelic which meant 'cheap and gaudy' but he'd never speak a word of it.

"Are you planning on having a Fandom wedding? Here, at the hotel?"

"I'm not sure yet. It would be nice, but planning a wedding in Fandom has its own logistical problems," explained Mary. "I really don't want to turn into a bridezilla over my own wedding. Plus we haven't told our families yet and who knows if they'll want to be involved."

"Or turn into something else," he teased gently, "such as a small kitten. It might prove problematic."

"That would really ruin my wedding day. It would be worse than the time Delinda's father got shot and everyone found out about her affair with another guy on her wedding day," said Mary.

She tilted her head to one side. "Have you met George Michael? Because it would mean a lot to me if he was comfortable with my friends. He doesn't like it when I talk to Danny, and he got a little freaked out when my friend Mike tried to do a background check on him."

"Most people would be a bit upset if they were subject to a background check," he pointed out. He knew he was. "You... want me to talk with your fiance?" he asked. "I'd be honored, but...will it work?"

Most people hadn't worked for years under the watchful eye of Ed Deline, either.

"He's shy, and I know a wedding will mean having to socialize, so I'd like it if he was a bit more comfortable with that. All you have to do is be friendly and get to know him," explained Mary. "I'll have to send Mike around too."

"I'll give it a try, certainly," he said, wondering a bit at what he'd gotten himself into.

"When are you planning for this to happen?"

Time was up, and everyone else was moving onto the next round. "You could just drop by the banana stand. He works there every day except Sunday and Friday," said Mary, getting out of her seat. "We'll have to talk again sometime when we have more than three minutes," she added with a smile.

"I'll set something up at the house," he said, standing. "Barbecue. I can manage that," he said with a wink. "Congratulations, Mary."
