"Ladies and gentlemen," Ronan said, as he came up to the DJ booth and took hold of the microphone; the DJ had been given the cue and let the current song end without starting another. "If I may have your attention, please? I have the results of the voting for this year's Prom Court.

"For this year's Junior King and Queen: the Junior Queen is Katara, and the Junior Kings are Reno, Johnny Storm, Christopher Halliwell, Teddy Altman, and Karal Austreben in a five-way tie!" Ronan led the applause for the -- unexpectedly sizable -- Junior Court.

"And, finally," he continued, "for this year's Fandom High 2008 Prom King and Queen, it is my pleasure to announce Senior King Bridge Carson and Senior Queen Z Delgado!"

Eve was wandering around, looking for anybody she knew. Because an occasion like this meant you had to say hi to as many people as you could possibly manage.

She also might've had a little bounce in her step and a slight bit of a grin on her face. She hadn't made the court, which had made her pout for all of thirty seconds, but still. She'd been nominated. Which kind of broke her brain, but even so!

Jamie and his "date" showed up a little late. And also a little drunk. And in the closet thing Jamie considered close to a dress.

"WOO! PROM!" Jamie said loudly. "AM I BEING TOO LOUD?"

Robin had had some punch. Plus, she was packing anyway. Hopefully he wouldn't notice.

In any instance, it was enough to make her want to actually dance. "See, totally worth not going home just yet."

It was a slow song, one that Karal didn't recognise. Not that that was a surprise, given his lack of familiarity with the music from here, but it didn't matter. He just wanted it to be slow. "Will this be all right to dance to?" he asked, resting his palm in the small of Evey's back.

By the end of the evening, Shawn was on the spiked punch. It was his Senior prom, why shouldn't he be on the hard stuff?

Andrew walked over, grabbed a cup of the punch, looked around, and downed it. He wiped his mouth on his sleeve. It had a kick.

He held his cup out to a skeleton to refill. "What?" he said looking at the thing. "Don't judge me. I'm thirsty."

Veronica ended up drinking a cup of spiked punch.

Granted, it wasn't enough to actually make her tipsy or anything. But it was a good excuse for sneaking off to a shadowy corner with Dick.

"So are you enjoying your senior prom?" she asked.
