The York Gallery; Wednesday [ 09/17 ] -- Exhibit Opening! 8pm onward.
The past few weeks of work were finally coming to a head, and Charlotte was both nervous and excited and getting herself worked up into a frenzy with making sure everything was perfect. She couldn't help feeling an overwhelming sense of satisfaction with the exhibit, though. The turnout wasn't huge, but nicely manageable and thankfully not small by any measure. Some of the work was a bit amateurish, but she had to admit to being pretty blown away by a few of the others.
By the time eight o'clock rolled around and the doors were open, the gallery was set up in a display of the pieces by artist, and the usual spread of treats and drinks were available in another area of the room. Charlotte, dressed in a vibrant red, milled around the gallery to make sure everything was in order and all the guests were enjoying the exhibit. She was also keeping an eye out for the artists of certain pieces, since she was very eager to potentially meet them.
The Community Showcase Exhibit was open!
[[or will be, once I get the very extensive OCD up! It's up! Enjoy! ]]

Re: H.M. Murdock.
"Oh, is that so?"
She nudged him.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
She pointed to the one in question.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
Honestly, he wasn't sure why he'd put that one together. It was just an idea that struck him.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
"What should I know?"
Re: H.M. Murdock.
"I'm not sure," he admitted. "It was just an idea I had. They're pictures from various wars." Like she couldn't tell that. "Like that one," he pointed to the one of the plane crashing at the top, "is from World War I. Then there are some from World War II," he pointed various ones out, "Korea, Vietnam..." he paused at that. "Kind of intense some of it, huh?" He glanced back at her, something vaguely hidden in his eyes.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
She squeezed his arm again.
"And the words?"
Re: H.M. Murdock.
"Uh... somethin' I came up with?" he offered. "I mean, they're just..."
Yes, he was having a bit of a hard time with this now.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
It was a joke, though she had no idea how bad of one it was in a way.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
"What?" He couldn't do much except to stare at her blankly. Just because he friends had gone through a trial...
Re: H.M. Murdock.
"If it's personal," she said slowly, "you can keep it to yourself. My curiosity is no obligation."
Re: H.M. Murdock.
"It's not you," he replied after a bit, "it's me. Not that I don't want you know, it's just... not the easiest thing to discuss, you know?"
He looked back at her, a slightly pained expression on his face.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
"Yes, HM. I certainly know."
Re: H.M. Murdock.
There was a bit of a smile once he'd pulled away, but some of that pain was still there too.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
Re: H.M. Murdock.
He took a hand in hers and squeezed it gently. "What shall we do now, dear lady?"
