Caritas - Friday evening [Open]

Jolee and Tino were stocking plenty of clean glasses behind the bar. This weekend meant family. Family meant drinking. It was a fact of life. It's part of the reason why Jolee never bothered with a family after breaking from the Jedi: he preferred sobriety.

The preparations ended when the door opened and Jolee felt an all-too familiar presence. "I'm sorry, Tino, but it looks like you're on your own tonight," he said, turning to face Revan. "We'll be in the lounge if you need me for anything."

[OOC: I'm totally cheating and making this a mod Tino night. As stated above, Jolee will be in the lounge if anyone wants to talk to him specifically.]

"I'm Martha," she said. "It's nice to meet you. And yeah, I'm starting to get the idea that it's stranger when it's quiet." She paused for a moment, looking at Sam. "Did you say Harkness?"

"...why?" Sam straightened. Was she so off her game that she'd missed a Time Agent?

"Oh, I just have a friend with that last name, and I've never met anyone else with that name too," Martha said.

She smiled slightly. "Then, yes, I did. Where'd you meet him?"

"We...traveled together. Sort of," Martha said. "Have you met the Doctor? We traveled around with him. Well, not him, because he's not my Doctor, but he's a Doctor, which I'm still getting used to."

"I've actually met the Doctor twice," Sam said, then explained, "two different universes, and apparently very different men, even if they look identical. I had no idea that Jack knew the Doctor. Huh. Not that it's a big surprise, I guess. Sometimes it seems like Jack knows everybody."

"He really does," Martha said, laughing. "I can't believe you know him too. If you don't mind me asking," she said, leaning a little closer, "do you...y'know, know him?"

Sam laughed and leaned in. "As much as anybody can, and more than most."

"So it's still just Gwen and I who haven't given in," Martha said. "Excellent."

"Give it time," she said, rolling her eyes. "This is Jack Harkness we're talking about."

Not necessarily the real one, though, that she and Cedric knew, but she wouldn't give away his secrets.

"I don't know, I've been very good about resisting him so far," Martha said. "My will is strong."

Sam just smiled knowingly as she sipped at her beer. "He's Jack."

It might have also been hitting her-as it did infrequently-how much she missed him.

"I think he might actually be all right with us just being friends," Martha said. "But that might be because he has plenty of other willing people to keep him occupied."

"See, that," Sam laughed. "That's just mean. True, but not something I always want to think about. How'd you end up in Fandom?"

"I found out that there was an opening at the clinic," Martha said, leaving out the bit about who'd told her. "It got very interesting when everyone thought they were in comas."

"Just wait until we get invaded," Sam sighed. "If you have any experience in field and emergency medicine, trust me, you'll use it. And how do you know Jack?"
