The Park, Sunday Afternoon, The Grand Tea

Mina Harker wasn't particularly fond of children. However, given the alternatives, it seemed a great idea to put them through a bit of culture. Her equal partner in all of this was, of course, the most proper lady she knew of in town: Miss Elizabeth Bennet.

Together, they organized the tables (with extra tiny chairs not just for the children, but if any of the young ones had brought along Mr. Bear to enjoy the event), the tea (of all sorts), and the assorted other bits (scones, crumpets, jam, little cucumber sandwiches and the like).

They also had some rather cheap (they were messy child types, so it made sense not to make them too extravagant) gloves for the little girls, so that they could enjoy the tea properly.

If anyone acted up too much, well, there was Mina Harker on the premises.

[ooc: Up early for Slowplay and wacky justice. Ms. Bennet's involvement with player permission. Hold up for OCD. Open for your tea needs!]

"Behaving according to the cultural norms doesn't differentiate between human and animal. Using our will to follow or transcend does."

Leto was quite pleased to have found someone how did not back away from a discussion with him.

"It can be, but it can just as well be flock mentality," Leto replied. "Behaving according to cultural norms is usually an unconscious decision, and ensures you are not ostracised from society."

"To be human rather than animal requires you to act beyond those rules, to see when they no longer fit their purpose."

"It depends on your definition of those words," Leto replied.

"There we agree," Leto said with a smile.

"Only fools underestimate women," Leto replied. "But it has been a common occurrence through history. I take it you have personal experience of achievements being ignored?"

"What do you study?" Leto asked, with interest. "Does your husband object?"

"And now?" Leto asked. "I am sorry about your husband. Will you marry again?"

"Then I hope you find one," Leto smiled. "A new field again, not a husband."

[Sorry, I thought I had replied!]

He smiled, sincerely pleased. It was rare that someone told him that. "Likewise. I hope we will meet again."
