Around town, Saturday evening
Wow, this had gotten really bad. Buffy had had herself a couple close calls, which would happen when the zombies were freaking everywhere, and today she really had worn old clothes knowing they'd get covered in things she didn't want to think about, and she'd had to clean off her sword more than once, and while she'd seen some really gross things in her time, that really kind of topped it so far.
She knew it wasn't going to be long before she had to head back to the dorms, but for now, she was still patrolling the streets. And alleyways. And etc. etc. etc.
And at this point it would be advisable that no one sneak up on her unless they wanted their heads removed.
[Open post! Living and undead of the PC and NPC variety welcome. Buffy does not agree with me on the 'welcome' part, but she can bite me.]

That would have to be replaced.

Spotting the little blond girl, he figured the zombies would be drawn in like McKay to a ZPM.

Whatever. Even if she looked like hell, she was armed, she was trained, and she would stay on this mission until the zombies were gone or she collapsed, one of the two.
The blond girl got a dubious look. Sarah tried not to underestimate based on age and gender -- she got that enough herself, thanks -- but it was hard to avoid. "Did you need an escort back to the dorms?"

Which is why he was headed towards Sarah now.

"CIA," Sarah said, because she had to give fair warning if it wasn't a direct attack. "Drop to the ground or I'll make you wish you had."
She was already reaching for her gun. The zombies didn't listen so well.

Jonah, being the nice guy that he was, started shambling over towards Buffy, muttering "braaaaaiiiiins" under his lack of breath.

And yet, one weekend, she had held her head high and carried an axe, seeking out the undead. She'd been someone else entirely, and yet herself. It implied that she, Miss Elizabeth Bennet, held within her some inherent capability with such matters. Perhaps it had been prescience.
More importantly, there were students being hurt. The radio broadcast indicated that things were worsening.
And so, Miss Elizabeth Bennet was on patrol. Astonishingly, she had yet to be killed, maimed, or turned.

If she started getting all tense all the time, she just wouldn't be able to do this. She liked keeping things light and quippy.

Sifting through bits of zombie sisters, John pocketed a hand with some long hair thing in it and then worked on securing a nicely decomposing arm to his own leg for transport. He would be at this a while.
