"We've been doing this a couple months now," Tyler said abruptly once the group was gathered. Ghani stood at his side, laughing at some private joke. "It's evaluations day so we can see who's moved up a level, who's stagnant, and who's getting worse."

He gestured to the mats. "Beginners there, intermediates there, advanced there. We're going to lead you in some totally handwavy exercises. Try to follow along. Next week we'll have new rankings."

"While your group isn't sparring, you're free to finds your own matches. Now, beginners? Let's get to it."

Leto watched the people gathered, considering who to approach for a spar. Today was a good day for fighting.

Cable arrived with Jan (of course) and put her safely in the kiddie area before even thinking about mingling.

When he returned, he had vague plans about maybe putting extra fencing around the kiddie area. Maybe a turret...

One part of Arthur was bristling at having to be evaluated; however, it was a decidedly tiny part opposite the rest of him, which was too used to being judged in terms of his skill to see this as anything other than the so-manyth time in his life where he had to prove himself.

So he was quiet, leaning against an available vertical surface while he waited for the advanced section to come up.

And thar was a Deadpool. Who was busy examining his nails over this whole 'evaluation' thing. He sucked at tests. Unless they were standardized and he could wing it with funny patterns in the bubbles.

Minsc was there and looking like hell. Like incredibly happy hell at that. There was quite the goose-egg on his head that made it hard to tell when the injury ended and his purple tattoo started, not to mention other scars and bruises here and there, and his ribs really hurt, but it was a good hurt! Cracking his knuckles, Minsc was thinking that he would very much like a repeat of last night's fight with Sir Deadpool, only probably a little shorter this time. Not by choice. More by the fact that things got all....shifty when he moved too quickly today.

Dinah didn't think she'd gotten worse; better, maybe, but there were so many 'advanced' people here she knew there was no way she'd moved up that much. Still, she was kind of nervous about this anyway, and was stretching more to compensate for it.

Turtle stretched out a little before things got too much under way, keeping an eye out to see if Harper showed up and trying not to be nervous about the whole evaluation thing. Of course, she wanted to do her best, but she was also thinking she could be okay so long as they didn't just take one look at her and ask her what she was doing in something like this, because seriously, Wexler....

Jennifer wasn't entirely sure of herself, here. But Ino had suggested it, so, she had come. She stood off in a corner hoping someone might show her some of the ropes.

Evaluations were no big deal, although Tahiri suspected she hadn't improved enough to advance any and therefore added that to the list of things she really needed to work on.

The soles of her feet, as she warmed up, were a little redder than usual; it had been a lot of walking yesterday. She did look more relaxed, though.

Glinda strolled into the gym wearing a sweatshirt and shorts. Her expression could only be described as nervous, but attempting to disguise it.

By this point in time, Jen's warmup routine was so ridiculously systematic you could probably set a clock by it. An atomic clock.

Jack had promised to bring her to a meeting two weeks ago, but had bailed last week. As such, she'd handwavily nagged him to bring her this week.

Now she was starting to wonder if this had been such a good idea after all. She had two weeks of knife drills from Leto under her belt, and a lifetime of kicking her cousin, but neither of those seemed like they'd do her much good here. Especially not when she recognized a bunch of the other people here, and knew that they were good.

Karla is not intimidated...much. She's simply apprehensive.

Daisy gave a little bit of a stretch, shaking her head to help get her into focus. It would feel nice to go into a week without having to worry about forcing things back on track again.

Fiona was there, wondering how she'd come up. She knew she had good reflexes and she'd been working on it, but she was also well aware she was a beginner. Either way, she glanced around to see if anyone else was nervous.

Rose stretched out, feeling like she was back at school and testing to move up trainee levels. So she wasn't terribly nervous - this wasn't going to keep her from graduating, but she knew she still wasn't in top form, and she really didn't want to embarrass herself.

The idea of evaluations always made Griff a little nervous. Not knowing exactly what they were looking for worried him a little extra and he flattened himself against the wall while he waited for the tests to start.

Steve had gotten back from Arlington, changed out of his suit, and come straight here. He wasn't really in the mood for a fight, but he felt kind of obligated. When he found out what was going on this week, he was glad he'd come.

Sectionals

Ghanima and Tyler will be leading the various groups in exercises, and watching how you work with (and against) each other.

Because this isn't Fight Club if you aren't being pushed to your limit.

Open Sparring

Anyone. Any level. With or without powers, so long as everyone agrees. And make sure you have a spotter, especially if you're working with someone new.

All those exercises were very nice in getting the blood going, but Minsc did not come to fight club for exercises, he came to fight club to fight! And he just may have some impressing to do, too, though since he did owe Lady Glinda a drink after this, he kept telling himself that no matter who he fights, he was not to fight until he passed out as usual. He just had to keep reminding himself to fight up until just about that point...
