Caritas [Saturday evening]

Robin was not wearing her Robin Sparkles regalia longer than she needed to. Which was for the obligatory performance.

So, for right now, the wig and graffiti denim jacket were tucked away, and Robin herself, brunette and irritable-looking as ever, was behind the bar and eyeing a bottle of Johnnie Walker.

[hooooly crap, wait for this OCD. it's intense. OKAY IT'S ALL UP. For the sake of not collapsing the post from sheer OCD, there's no audience reactions threads -- just react right off the performances, please! Have fun! \m/]

Tony was drinking. Heavily. And having far too much fun at the expense of those singing for their entertainment.

Dear god, people.
icecoldfrost: (Emma drinking)

Weaving around the crush of people at the bar, Emma breathed an internal sigh of relief when she realized how sparsely populated the lounge area was. Somewhere she could drink, hopefully without getting cooties.

"Tell me the freaks are temporary," she said, taking a seat and a long sip of her martini. "It's like an explosion of hopeful rejects from Star Search."

No, she didn't know him, but the man's attitude screamed 'money', and he appeared to be drinking decent alcohol. Therefore, he was acceptable company.

Of course he was drinking the good alcohol. He needed it if this was what they were subjected to.

"I prefer to think of it as watching some of the American Idol rejects." He was a bit more up to date on his pop culture, after all. A pink ball was singing.
icecoldfrost: (bitch plz)

Emma was a few years out-of-time, but she recognized the name from reading trashy entertainment magazines.

"I don't know," she mused, tilting her head in consideration. "There seems to be a horrible amount of bad hair and emo eyeliner, even for Idol."

Tony just shot her a Look for the bad hair. Clearly she wasn't watching enough. "Give it time."
icecoldfrost: (I'm listening)

"Which? Idol, or the fashion-deprived?" Emma asked. "I'm not sure how long I can go without either staging an intervention or starting to laugh."

"Personally, I am going for the latter. But then again, there is alcohol involved to ease the pain along."

Tony was an excellent role model.
icecoldfrost: (considering)

Emma looked him over approvingly. "I don't suppose they let you teach," she sighed. "You speak more sense than the spastic woman that leads my fashion class."

"Spandex is never a good look."

"Of course it's not. A nicely tailored suit works much better." Or titanium alloy.
icecoldfrost: (long hard night)

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2009-06-21 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, a suit of titanium alloy was tailored. Kinda.

"Perhaps for you, but few people take a teenager in a suit seriously, even a custom one," Emma said sourly. A suit would be so much more comfortable than some of the dresses she wore to parties.

"What's wrong with Versace? Or Dolce & Gabbana? If these people are 'rock stars' - " quotation marks heavily implied - "Then they can afford a decent stylist. Or at least a personal assistant that isn't colorblind and isn't afraid to taser them if they go outside looking like a bum."

"Larusmiani, Armani," Tony suggested. "New money?"
icecoldfrost: (I'm a telepath and you're a tool)

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2009-06-21 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Me? Not really. But they are," Emma said, pointing to the crowd. "If they actually have any at all, that is, and most of them wouldn't have the sense to go for Armani if it was dangling in front of them."

"And really, would we want them to?" Ick. Waste of good clothing.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
"That would mean being able to sing," Tony pointed out kindly. He waved his empty glass in Tino's direction. "And, really now, who wants to?"
icecoldfrost: (Decadent Emma)

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2009-06-21 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"If I wanted to sing, someone should pin me down and check me for brain damage," Emma replied sourly, also giving Tino a Look. "Singing is for small children and animated movies."

Her glass was almost empty. This was unacceptable.

"I'm sure you'd make a lovely Disney heroine."
icecoldfrost: (I can kill you with my mind)

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2009-06-21 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
"Disney heroines wouldn't make the prince sign a pre-nup," Emma said sweetly. "Insipid little twits."

"That is why you hire those attorneys." Well, one of the reasons. "Tony Stark."
icecoldfrost: (all your kings and queens)

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2009-06-21 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Emma gave him one of her million-watt smiles. "Stark Industries," she said by way of recognition.

"Emma Frost. Most definitely charmed." Especially considering that she'd purchased stock in Stark after Cumberland's party, and it was paying off quite nicely.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
"You've heard of me?" And wasn't thinking he might go insane. That was interesting and new.
icecoldfrost: (you are giving me a headache)

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2009-06-21 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
"Mmm. Although Anthony Stark is my age, and I'm rather sure is at MIT doing genius-type things," Emma drawled, looking him over. "This is one of those time-things, isn't it?"

Still, it was someone from home, and Emma couldn't help being fascinated.

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
"It is. You get used to them here."

No you didn't.

"I'm pretty sure I've already graduated," Tony replied. "I think that happened around your age."
icecoldfrost: (Emma is all business)

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2009-06-21 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
"At sixteen? Now I feel like an underachiever," Emma sighed. "I recently moved away from Boston, so I haven't been following the local society pages quite as often. Should I offer my belated congratulations?"

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[identity profile] not-ironmaiden.livejournal.com 2009-06-21 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Seventeen, actually," Tony corrected. "I used to be much better at guessing ages."
icecoldfrost: (emma smile)

Re: The Lounge [06/20]

[personal profile] icecoldfrost 2009-06-21 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Still close," she laughed. "I'll be seventeen this year."

"I'll take that as a compliment, since I tend to avoid my own age group like the plague, unless they prove themselves interesting." Mostly because all the boys thought about was sex, and the girls cared about was boys. Dull.
