And just then, Tyler blinked awake and moved to sit up. "I'm so sorry," he said, answering Anemone.

Any moment now, he'd realize he wasn't there anymore.

"You should be," Tony muttered, moving closer to put a hand on his back. "Sleeping all weekend."

Tony. Tony was there and Tyler was whole, he could feel the legs he knew the bomb had torn away, and -- Tony. Who knew him.

He drew a gasping breath and looked around, a little wildly. He felt some part of his brain want to go away and let someone else drive for a little bit, and rather firmly yanked himself back from all that.

"I'm back," he said. "I blew myself up, Tony. The girl with pink hair, she -- I had to. Only way."

More weakly, he repeated, "I'm back."

"You what?" Tony was trying very hard to follow that one.

"We had a big battle, and this girl -- I made her. She was my fault. Anemone. She was killing people and I had to contain her and the only thing I could think of was -- I had some bombs." Tyler couldn't look at Tony. "Kissed you, just before that. Other you. Is that cheating?"

Coherency, it seemed, was not on the menu.

Tony stared a little while longer. "No, it's not cheating," He finally decided on.

"I don't think he liked it," Tyler said, as if that made a difference. Maybe it did. He didn't know.

"Can you get the doctor to let me go?"

Light might help. Air. Fewer sleeping people.

Tony just nodded. "I think they have better things to worry about. My place?"

"Your place," Tyler said.

His meds were at Tony's place. He'd take some and hope his head started making sense again.

He reached out to pat Tony on the leg, a little awkwardly. "Really glad you're here."

"Yeah, well." Tony lifted his chin. "Where else would I be?"

Tyler could think of several answers to that and liked none of them. "I guess nowhere."

He stood up carefully, hoping the world wouldn't spin. He couldn't trust his muscles. "Tell me how Steve is while we walk?"

"Steve?" He hadn't realized Tyler cared so much. He offered an arm, nodding carefully. "He's... not talking about it."

Nine days out of ten, Tyler didn't care that much. This was just the tenth day.

He leaned against Tony. (Not for comfort. Hush.) "You staked him over there," he said. "So ... yeah."

"You said he asked you to." Tyler answered. "It was weird. You and Nathan didn't know me at all, and Steve was -- Steve was like me."

Tony put a hand on his back, carefully supporting him. "We should get you back home now."

Yes, that meant Tony's place. Shut it.
