Damon wasn't really liking this whole extra work thing he's been doing lately but it honestly wasn't like he had anything better to do around here. He knew better than to ask for more excitement. Nobody wanted a repeat of last weekend. No, no, he'll be content with this for now, thank you.

Wanting to get out tonight, Adrian headed for the bar and took his usual seat. "I don't think I've ever seen you behind the bar before," he greeted him. He'd seen him down at the end of the bar when Chuck hired him, sure, but that didn't count.

"The boss keeps switching my days," Damon said with a shrug. "I don't mind it. I think it gives me a mysterious vibe. 'When's he gonna show up?' Oh, you don't know! I'm like the wind."

Adrian liked him. "I may have to start showing up more often to see when you show. It'll be like a game."

"In that case I'll start trying to work some disguises in just to confuse you," Damon said. "Now I just have to convince Tino to be the ass end of my pantomime horse costume..."

"I could convince him to do that for you, might it might ruin the surprise." Yeah, yeah, compulsion was wrong, sure.

"Oh I can be pretty convincing under the right conditions," Damon said with a smirk. He didn't even find compulsion all that wrong, either. "But, you're right, you'll be expecting a horse now."

Boredom on a Saturday night had led Raven and Joan to Caritas -- also in part because Raven wanted to celebrate that she hadn't been the one making people fall in love with her (or anyone else).

"Hello, Damon," Raven said, sitting at the bar and smiling at him as she waited for Joan to join her. "May I please have a virgin" -- blush -- "strawberry daiquiri?"

"So, were you caught up in that love spell craziness?"

"I was not made to feel any unnatural feelings," Raven said, "but people professed their love to me, and I had feared I was responsible again."

"I think so," Raven said, "at least, that is what I gathered from the radio." Still, she looked around to see if Max was lurking just in case.

That made her blush more. "Perhaps one day I will surprise you and order a real one," she said. It was doubtful, but anything could happen.

"I look forward to that day," he said as he mixed up her drink. He was getting pretty good at the whole girly drink making thing, if he did say so himself. "Might die of shock."

Since Kris was going to stick around for awhile, she figured it was a good idea to check out what this town had to offer. The bar seemed like a good start. "Can I get a beer, please?"

"Sure thing," Damon said, giving her a smile. She was cute so she got a smile. That's how it worked. He pulled out a bottle and slid it over. "I'm feeling generous tonight, so this one will be on the house."

"Thanks," Kris said, grinning appreciatively. Free beer from the hot bartender? Just another reason she was glad to stick around. "This weekend already started out well. Seems to be getting better."
