"My apologies for not giving my sermon weekly, as I had promised. I have been somewhat . . . distracted."

He had all these biological functions now. They were exhausting.

"Today I thought I would simply ask all of you a question: How do you deal with the monotony of every day life? It's all very repetitive, and your various biological functions interrupt you too frequently to approach it with a properly meditative spirit. I find it very frustrating."

Alas, poor now-mostly-human-angel. He hadn't yet discovered the true wonders of narcotics and sex.

"That's true. So much jealousy," Chuck said. There was an attempt to look sympathetic there but it failed horribly. "I don't see why you're focused on the money thing. If you wanted something I'd be happy to buy it for you. I've got more money than I know what to do with."

Chuck burst out laughing. "No, what--it's sugar daddy and that's a whole different thing."

"You're talking of paying for my needs. Isn't that what a . . . 'sugar daddy' does?"

"Sort of. But they pay for things and expect, uh, things of the sexual nature in return," he explained. "I don't. I'm just being a nice friend."

"Trust me, you're a good friend," Chuck said. "Most people don't put up with me for as long as you have."

"Usually they stop hanging around me and start saying horrible stuff about me online," Chuck said with a shrug.
