Clark wasn't exactly working at the bar so much as stopping by to see how his good friend Tino was. Maybe have a coke and see if he couldn't tune in some preseason football for his trouble.

It was good being in a town where he didn't get interrupted twice a quarter to rescue someone who'd been buried alive.

Wild horses couldn't keep Drake from the stage tonight. First up was a visit to the 80s.

Drake ambled up to the stage with Kennedy. "All right, zombies, let's give this one all you got," he said.

He gestured to Kennedy. "Hit it, K!"

Kennedy shot him a look of mild protest at the nickname but, gamely, picked up the next verse. She really wasn't a good singer: on pitch, but without any musical quality to her voice to speak of. It didn't stop her from getting as into this as a girl whose musical speed really didn't run at the velocity of the Fab Four could be, although her expression was somewhat wry.

After a few drinks with Drake (and a few more with Sookie), Karla felt ready to ascend the stage. She flipped through the selections till she found one she knew well enough to attempt. The band started to play, but she stopped them, whispered a bit, and grinned as they began again.

Perhaps "Dance Me to the End of Love" had never been meant to be jazzy, but Karla didn't really care.

There was no other place Shunsui would rather be right now than a place where there might be free drinks. Even if he wasn't the one offering them.

Free drinks meant there was a rather happy John Price in the lounge. Even if he didn't know the man well. He wore a Hawaiian shirt (which was an odd look for Price), just to seem festive.

It didn't work too well.

Christian came into the bar direct from the beach (http://whore4trash.livejournal.com/6450.html?style=mine) and made a beeline for the first half-emptyu glass he spotted that looked vaguely alcoholic.

"I think I just saw a girl turn into a mermaid," he declared, dazed. "Does that -- happen often?"

Bobby could actually count the number of times he'd been to Caritas on one hand. Huh. At least this time, he was actually planning to drink more than a soft drink. Well. Maybe. Possibly.

Sookie, sure, was kind of sad to be here. More than a little sad, really. There'd probably be crying later.

But right now she was actually nursing a drink, trying to look and feel festive. Alcohol helped.

Farnsworth was here because he thought he was on his way somewhere else and just got really lost and subsequently confused on the way.

Jono clearly wasn't there for the booze, no. But he had heard radio last night, and it wasn't every day that a person advertised his own wake, and he knew how much Didi liked this teacher in particular, and so he decided that he would grace the lounge with his presence.

Or something like that.

Mostly, this involved Jonothon wondering if the guitarist in the zombie band would protest too much to him possibly liberating him of his instrument for a few numbers.

Ellie was there after her shift at the clinic. She always did enjoy Drake's classes and thought he was pretty cool, too, so she felt like she should be here tonight.

Warren really had no idea what to make of this wake thing this evening, but he did know that Drake was one of the teachers that he'd had that had actually made sense, back when he was teaching that Hollywood Love and Romance class, and there would be something terribly the matter with him if he didn't at least show up to... Pay his respects?

... Or something like that.

The crowd was fairly impressive, at least. He couldn't help but smile a bit at that.
