John had decimated the population of the world five times before he headed to the bar, phone to his ear as he explained how effective the Rodney pandemic virus had been. "No, it's not multiplayer." He waved at Tino for a beer as he sat down, making faces at no one present.

"No, it's not better than our game." He rolled his eyes. As if disease was as cool as running dueling civilizations. "Yes, I'm sure they're doing fine without us."

He paused, eyebrow lifting. "No."

"No."

"Did you hear me say no twice?" John snorted, somehow smiling despite the exchange. "I'm hanging up now." At least Tino was quick with that beer.

John's made his way to the bartender side even if he's not an employee. What? Refills are needed.

It wasn't really a surprise anymore to run into John here. Though when she saw him behind the bar, Jaina had to ask, "Are you sure you don't work here?" as she took a seat.

"Chuck made that perfectly clear," John assured her, even as he reached for the tequila to dangle in front of her. "And don't worry, the squirrels didn't force me back here."

Antillar had been kind enough to offer Genesis a free drink which meant that, but of course, he was going to take him up on that offer.

First, though, he was going to give the... band... a long dubious glance.

If it wasn't one thing, it was another about this place, wasn't it?

"So what do you want?" Max asked with a grin, ignoring the band as he considered his own drinking options.

"Something strong," he said, tearing his gaze away from the band to look incredulously at Antillar. "Why are there corpses in the bar?"

"Don't really know," Max admitted. "They've been here the entire time I've been on the island. I try to think of them as local color."

John saw the redhead come in with Max, but he smiled in what he thought was a friendly manner and offered him a shot of tequila. "On the house," he said because he didn't feel like adding to Chuck's profits. "You're new, yeah?"

Far be it for Genesis to turn down free alcohol.

"My thanks," he said, lifting the shot in a rough salute before downing it. "Utterly new," Genesis added, leaning against the counter. "What gave it away?"

"Well, I saw you giving the band the eye, so either Yoko Zombie wronged you or you'd never seen decomposing rock stars before," John said, finding himself rather amusing. "I went with the option that didn't sour my drink."

So help her, Kūkaku kind of liked the bar; she certainly wasn't about to let one encounter with an asshole keep her from enjoying bad booze and a good smoke. So she plopped onto a stool, lit up her pipe, and called out, "Get me a beer! Whatever's cheap!"

The pipe was interesting, but couldn't distract away from...everything else she had going on. "Beer's cheap, but tequila's free," John said, heading her way.

There was a bit of a pause; the look, should the bartender actually notice anything that far up, was one that suggest a lot of pain if he was lying.

"Fuck, then, give me that. Free? Really free? For what reason?"
