Homecoming Dance | Town Hall | Saturday Evening | Post II

The glitter could not be contained! Nor could the moose...despite their plastic nature. Homecoming continued onward, welcoming all late arrivals who were still in time for the main event!

Momoko gave Leda a very good looking over. "You should have called. Is this because of that drugs stuff back in July? By that fancy elf lady? Goblins? Why didn't you ask me for more help? Leda!"

That last bit was said much more sympathetically as Momoko sighed and reached a hand out to her friend's hair.

Leda slipped her arms around Momoko and sighed. "I'm sorry." she said softly. "My scrying mirror, that's what I use in place of a phone in Faery, got smashed during a kidnapping attempt and I haven't been able to get a new one yet."

Possibly not going to be very reassuring there Leda.

"I really really hope you won't." Leda said. "But..well I'm okay, but things aren't very good back home. The guy who was behind that drug thing? He kinda started a war." So not the kind of conversation she hoped to be having at the dance. "So, this mini vacation is just what I needed."

Momoko finally caught the hesitancy in Leda's voice, and she sighed, trying to calm herself and get back to the cheerful mood of a party. "We are totally having a huge conversation about this later, after the dance or something. Especially the part about where I get to come and help you."

But for now, Leda was right, a vacation was totally needed, here. So, keeping an arm around her friend, Momoko turned back to the maple syrup fountain. "Right. Now. Are we really supposed to eat meat covered in syrup or is this a test?"

"I'd go with test but...would Canadians really test us without warning us?" She'd always heard Canadians were so nice and polite.

And yeah, conversation later. Leda wondered if talking to her friends here might giver her more outside the box ideas for the fight against Corwyn.

How about bringing in a superpowered flying Japanese girl in a pink dress to beat up all the bad guys that dared hurt her friend? That was totally outside the box, right?

"It's Canadian?" Momoko blinked, confused. "Like, the country Canada? Is the island there, now?"

Momoko looked around, finally noticing the moose. "Ooooh. I don't know much about Canada. So, then that's the theme?" And now Momoko was totally convinced that glitter was grown in Canada. Thank you.

"Hmm." She grinned evilly. "I dare you to taste one. Of the meat sticks dipped in syrup, I mean. Not a moose."

Well far be it from Leda to turn down a dare. "Well the sausage that accidentally gets syrup on it from the morning pancakes doesn't taste too bad, so sure I'll give it a try."

Leda dipped the meat into a bit of the syrup and took a nibble. "Hmm. Interesting combination."

"I never thought of that." Momoko watched Leda carefully, making sure she wasn't playing a prank. Or collapsing to the floor. "I guess because it doesn't really look like sausage. Is it really tasty?" Her voice probably revealed her doubt.

Momoko pulled back her shoulders and reached for a stick. "Okay, you've convinced me. If I die, you totally have to take care of Moshi for me," she teased as she held the meat under the fountain.

Momoko finished her stick and considered the fountain. "I would totally prefer a chocolate fondue, you know?"

She grinned and reached for two sticks of doughnut holes, handing one to Leda. "I think I'm going to stay with the desert sticks. And never move to Canada."

Leda wasn't a huge seafood fan anyway. She was still majorly wigged out about the ocean and many of the things that lived in it.
