Peter Bishop was fashionably late, given he was way too old to be at a high school dance, even if he had friends here.

He didn't do awkward, though, so he was completely casual about this. That's just how Peter Bishop rolled.

Petra arrived fashionably late (well, more like 'was so busy setting up she had to race back to the dorm to get ready at the last minute,' but the other sounded better) and working a theme. She'd hit the jackpot and found a great dress and shoes on clearance (she didn't even know Kate Spade made size elevens!) and she'd wrapped the look up with a cute clutch and thematically relevant earrings. Her hair was pinned up with rhinestone-accented pins.

Date? Who needed a date?

Honestly, Jenny came to the dance because of the time difference.

Which was to say it was last call in England when she suddenly remembered Homecoming was this weekend, and, when she did the math in her head, decided the punch was probably spiked by now and called for a Door.

At least she was wearing a nice dress. She'd been trying to pick someone up and had struck out, which was the other half of why she was here.

It was completely not Roy's fault he was late to the dance, or that his suit was wrinkled. He'd had to stop a mugging before he could leave his neighborhood in New York, and by then he'd missed his portal and had to wait for the next one. Totally legit. But he only had bruised knuckles to show for it, and was looking around for people he knew with a smile on his face.

Z had had to tell Syd approximately five million times that no, she couldn't cover her shift, but she'd finally made it out of the base and to her portal, and she was here. And wearing yellow, of course.

Zero showed up wearing a dress she'd found at the thrift store, leather jacket, and combat boots. Her hair was dyed neon yellow and blue in a salute to the school colors. So pretty much par for the course, really.

Stark had probably never been fashionably anything. He was just a little late because he hadn't decided until the last minute whether or not to come.

Now he was looking around for any familiar faces. Familiar from when he was in school, at least. There were students he recognized from the cupcake class, though thankfully not from the clinic.

Zoe was still in a good mood as she went up to the mic, thank you very much well-behaved students. "Good evening, everyone. I have the honor of announcing this year's Homecoming Court. Your freshman king and queen are Butters Stotch and Daenerys Targaryen. Your sophomore king is a five-way tie between Billy Kaplan, Bobby McCallister, William Murdoch, Dave Nelson, and Peter Wiggin, and your sophomore queen is Rilla Blythe. Your junior king and queen are Luke Castellan and Petra West. And your Homecoming King and Queen are Bruce Wayne and Quinn Fabray. Congratulations, all of you."

There was still plenty of bite-sized food to be eaten by all! Our magical caterers had replenished the display so there was still plenty of coffee, tea, and um, bagel BELTs. The neverending maple syrup fountain (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2379/2248593808_0f32a97d89_o.jpg) was surrounded by bite-sized food on sticks, like Canadian bacon, timbits, and waffles. The Vernors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vernors) was looking a little tampered with, but hey, nothing said getting drunk on punch like scarfing up mini samples of poutine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine)!

Annie was having a good night. Everything looked great, and while she checked to make sure things were in order, it didn't keep her from having fun. But since she hadn't managed to actually try any of the food yet, she got herself a cup of ginger ale and pondered the timbits.

Knowing that the ginger ale was probably spiked by this point (and who may have spiked it), Bruce was staying away from it. Instead he poured himself a cup of ginger ale that he had snuck into a flask earlier so he could continue drinking without worry the whole night.

Bruce really tried to think of everything.

Standing off to the side was surprisingly thirsty work, so Dave actually made his way over to the food table, where he could get something to drink.

He got a second cup pretty quickly.

And you know what? He was finally starting to get into the party. You could tell that when his tie ended up around his forehead.

Elphaba had decided to attend the dance of her own free will, amazingly enough. The only thing was she was exceedingly prudish in her attire - the long dress, hair still tied up in a bun, glasses sat upon her face.

She wasn't entirely happy with the food available, but that didn't stop her from enjoying some tea as she watched the festivities.
