Graduation Brunch, the Park, Early Sunday Afternoon

It was a Fandom tradition that went back... well, at the very least several years: graduation brunch, offering visitors and locals alike the best food available on the island.

There was a banner that stretched from tree to tree declaring CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2013 in big glittery letters. There were tables full of moddable food and drink. There were happy decorations in blue and yellow and a long series of picnic tables for people to sit at and mingle.

And then there was the bit at the end where Mayor Swanson was barbecuing an entire pig's worth of food. Uh... Yeah.

Sure Lionel hadn't made the ceremony, but it was hardly like he'd missed anything important, and he was here now.

Bruce needed no food (yet). Bruce needed to give the impression that he was being social and mingling while he was mostly concerned that with the way his timeline was out of sync with Fandom's, criminals were experiencing a few days without the Batman putting fear into their superstitious and cowardly hearts.

So he would be leaving right after the brunch, and he would spend the next couple nights making up for lost time.

But in the meantime, SOCIAL AND MINGLING!

Sia was really only here for one reason: she'd learned by now that relatives tended to show up to these things, and she thought she should probably make herself available in case there were any conversations that needed to be had. So she found a seat slightly away from things to watch everyone else.

Ron had taken up near the back of the food and drink section. He had a great deal of fresh pork meat that he was now cutting up and tossing onto the barbecue that he'd brought.

Would he let you have any? It was a fifty-fifty chance.

Oh please, like Kate would be anywhere but here? Rule number one of visiting Fandom during big evente: you stay for the food. She had vague Cinco de Mayo plans for later, but for now?

You wouldn't think a girl so skinny would consume as much as food as she was loading up her plate with.

Contain your shock, everyone - Peter was hanging around the tables of food, and he didn't even have his phone on him.

Instead he had a plate on which he was loading vegetables and meat in equal measure, squinting a little. He'd been spending a lot of time indoors and the sunlight was kind of messing with his head.

Kaidan... still had the sling and the facial bruising (though that had softened in shade to a nice sick yellow), so today he'd be cheating by floating his plate next to him using biotics as he picked things out.

Shhh. You'd do it too, if you were biotic.

Ben had an enormous pile of food on his plate--shhh, he'd missed all of the choices in Fandom--and was making progress by eating all of the bacon (possibly in the universe...) first.

Crazy narrator who sets up a thread without food. Yeah, Momoko was here. She was probably back and forth between the tables and the food, actually, but that was pretty normal.

And if she looked a little melancholy, it was just because she didn't want this to be the last time she came to the island...

Natalie's parents were en route back to Montreal. Natalie was intending to join them soon enough. She really was overdue for a trip home.

But first, she got some food and sat down by a table. To people watch for a bit before heading to the dorms to grab some stuff to take home with her.

Pretty much the only reason Atton had come back for this was because there would be free food, and he wasn't exactly swimming in credits right now.

...There was also that thing with the troopers and the angry shopkeeper and the ship full of dancers and the-- look, people probably shouldn't leave him and Sparkle alone anywhere. It ended badly.

Anyway, he was just here for the brunch. Actually, he was going to be hoarding some food so he'd have some when he took off again in a few hours. But right now? Atton was sitting back, leaning against the table and observing people.

Sam figured he'd head back to Seattle a little later today. He didn't need to be back for anything pressing so he was taking his time. He'd found an empty table and taken a seat so he could eat some free food.

After filling a plate with free food, Hanna found a seat at one of the tables. She then scanned the crowd, looking for her mom or anyone else she knew.

Gert didn't really see the point in attending this grad stuff when she wasn't a graduate and didn't know any, but Old Lace was being especially clingy today, so by heading out to the park, Gert was taking a brief break from dealing with her.

Also, you know, there was food. So.

Percy had wanted to stand off and brood but with his mom there, he'd found a table and both mother and son were sitting there quietly.

Percy had explained a little bit about Luke to her last night but he hadn't gone into a lot of detail. That'd probably change today.

Sarah wasn't brooding. But she was on break, and that meant she wasn't hugely interested in dealing with students and their guests and whatever.

So she just got herself some food, then backed out to the edge of the park to enjoy it.
