The Beach, Friday Evening

The weather was being kind - perhaps unnaturally so. There was a large gap in the clouds right above Fandom island, sending sunlight streaming down even as the sun made its way towards the horizon.

Perfect time for a beach party. More or less. The organizers were just happy the date they'd picked and put on all the invites looked like it was turning out sunny, okay?

There were coolers with lemonade and... other things, there were beach balls and there was sand: perfect excuse for a party, right?

That's what a party is for, of course, even if it involves a little more sand sticking to everything this time around.

... AKA drink all the drinks and eat all the food.

Admittedly, it's hard to brood while the sun is shining and you're just standing around awkwardly in the middle of a beach.

Play volleyball, or go into the water if you're brave enough... it's pretty cold.

Come one, come all, enjoy yourself, tomorrow's the reunion!

Korra was there, Naga more or less at her heels. The more or less depending on if she thought she could snag some unattended food or not.

Korra had snagged one of the balls, but she wasn't so much playing volleyball as fetch with a polar bear dog sized ball.

There was a Mord'Sith in one of said corners, and it was entirely possible that Cara was glaring at it for not being shadowy enough.

Ben was there, mostly to see if Tiny Luke and Leia were going to make an appearance than because he wanted to make things awkward for his students.

Was he making things awkward? Kriff. Would having a drink make it less awkward or more?

Sometimes Ben shouldn't be left unsupervised with his own thoughts...

Would it help with that if Tahiri tried to sneak up and hug him, maybe? Because that was exactly what she was doing.

Cade was totally ~~stupid~~ brave enough to be in the water!

Shirtless because it was a beach party and that's how Cade rolled.

Ender made it out to the beach after some time, though he was hardly a party animal and intended to leave within the hour.

He sat down on the sand and took a few moments for himself.

Rilla was trying very hard to keep Jims from poking his fingers into every cupcake on offer...

Sigh, Jims.

Work today was so, so boring, so you know what, yeah, Topher was here.

In his lab coat, because honestly, Topher was a huge douche.

Mat was there and mingling like a mingling thing...who didn't recognize many people these days.

Bloody everything.

But just because he was married didn't mean he was dead and yes, thank you, he would enjoy seeing the beach attire of this dimension!

"TAHIRI!" Ben hugged her back, hard, and maybe swung her around in a circle a little. "I've missed you so much."

Tahiri laughed and reached up to ruffle his hair, still hanging on to him with one arm. "The sentiment is mutual, you know. You look good -- your life now definitely suits you."

Late fall in Brazil didn't stop Kennedy from trying to hit the beach as often as possible, but it was definitely nicer in a summer climate.

She'd grabbed a volleyball and was tossing it up in the air, as far as she could throw it (which was pretty far with the Slayer strength and all), just because she was pretty sure she'd kill the ball if she actually tried to hit it.

"Ender says I need a haircut," Ben told her, laughing.

Ender was not wrong.

"I completely agree with him," Tahiri said, shaking her head. "Honestly, if I'd shown up and your hair wasn't a complete disaster I'd be convinced you were an imposter."

Luke was sitting awkwardly on the beach, if that helped anything? He had a drink and was soaking up the sun in the way only a desert kid could really enjoy something.

He also had an eye on Cade in the water. The last time they'd met, the kid had punched him without explaining anything and that had just be strange, even for here.

"Checking me for gremlin bites and evidence of cloning?" Ben guessed, hugging her again because he couldn't help himself.

"Praise the Light, a face I recognize," Mat said, dressed wholly inappropriately for a beach party in breeches and a heavily embroidered green coat.

"For starters," Tahiri replied. Watch her mind the hugging so much she was hugging him back just to make him stop. Except no, that was not the goal she had in mind. "It's been way too long since I've actually seen you."

Gert and Old Lace were here, sure.

It was dumb that they were one the beach, if you asked, well, one member of that pair, but Old Lace thought sand was awesome, and when it was a matter of the deinonychus' enjoyment, Gert didn't really get a say.
