Puppy Party at Caritas | Saturday Afternoon and Night

April was pretty sure that no one in Fandom cared about health codes. She had heard a bunch of radio reports about people bringing pets or people-turned-into-animals to work with them, sometimes to establishments that served food. More to the point, even if the overwhelming population did care about health codes, April gave zero fucks.

So today, as an effort to a) promote the animal shelter she was working at, b) get lots of tips at Caritas, and c) stay out of her disgustingly hot apartment, today April set up shop at Caritas with a few boxes full of the shelter's cutest puppies. There were signs all over town directing people to Caritas for the puppy party and discounted drinks, and by two or three in the afternoon, someone had generously brought over some food, too.

There were plenty of refreshments and the opportunity to play with puppies. Seriously, everyone should come.

Ahaha, of course Sam was attending this. Puppies! Plus, it was only a one-block walk from her apartment.

She got herself a drink and found a seat with a puppy scampering around her leg and felt right at home.

Nikolai was going to talk to the first person he saw who didn't seem to be already wrapped up in a conversation, yes. And he was going to do so while clutching good and tight to a bottle of beer that he'd gotten from the guy behind the counter who didn't seem to be too distracted by dogs.

"I'm honestly trying to figure out if this is brilliant, horribly unsanitary, or some kind of mix between the two that I'm not actually hugely inclined to care about."

Atton wasn't here for the puppies. He wasn't really a pet person in general.

No, he was here because he... was pretty much always here at least for an hour or so to get some drinks and listen to the music.

He was eyeballing the dogs, though.

"You scared of dogs?" Yes, because that was obviously what was going on here. Atton came to the puppy party because he was scared of dogs.

No way in Hell Kaidan was in any position to get a dog, but... well, he was curious. (And maybe a little lonely.)

So he showed up, patting a dog on the head and smiling faintly as he sat down.

"That dog's a cuddler." It might or might not have been true, but Kaidan looked more interested in the animals than anyone else here, which April approved of. She thought she'd see where this went.

Jack was still a puppy, and Emma could hear April's fiendish plot of puppies - because telepathy was awesome, thanks - and so Emma was bringing Puppy!Jack to Caritas so she could drink and he could play with some puppy friends.

"Here, chew on them," she told Jack, pointing at the other dogs. "Not my shoes."

Jack whined, as if reproaching Emma, but scampered off toward the puppies. He was bigger than them; he had much to teach them.

Korra wasn't dragged into Caritas, but only because Naga was well-trained enough to know she should only lean in the direction she wanted to instead of pulling when Korra was on the ground instead of in the saddle.

She whined pathetically, head turned towards at the puppies, while Korra undid the straps on her harness. "Hold still a moment."

You know, all Nikolai really wanted was a drink after his shift at the Arms? So he was looking a little baffled when, upon his first time ever stepping into Caritas, he found himself staring at two things that both seemed fairly out of place in a bar.

First, there were the puppies. A whole shitload of puppies.

And then there were the zombies.

"Maybe I shouldn't have that drink after all..."

Small, fluffy puppy of her own following at her heels, Allie turned up once the sun had set.

"Go," she told the dog. "Have fun."

Generally, this was not the sort of place Hannibal would frequent, but he'd learned that socializing and contributing to charities were good ways to allay suspicion. And while not quite as fond of dogs as Will, he did find them amusing at times.

He wondered if this place had any decent wine.

While not immediately after sundown, Drac did finally manage to get himself and Mavis ready and to the 'puppy party'.

Mavis had better enjoy it, since it was the ONLY time she would be allowed by her father to step foot into a bar until she was at least 200.

He watched a moment to make sure the room was safe and then nodded to the excited Mavis, panting eagerly to go play. "Remember to play gently, precious bone. You're a Dracula." Not a werewolf.

She could look at puppies from a distance, too. No need to get all close.

Since Jack was now back to two-legged instead of four, Emma was going to take a seat at the bar and order another martini. Because she deserved it.

Jack frolicked happily with the other canines, smelling and licking things he'd likely block from his memory once he was back to himself.

After delicately nudging puppies out of her way until there was a space big enough for her to lie in, Naga flopped down, tail wagging as she was pounced on by tiny bundles of fur.
