"No." Bo crossed her arms behind the bar and ignored the balloon Tiny was holding out to her. "I already told you my terms. The whole thing or no deal."

Tiny held up his phone in the other hand, then made a show of putting it away. Bo just shook her head.

"No. I don't care if you record me. I'm just not doing it without the quid pro quo." She reached out and bopped the balloon lightly. "Every. Single. Verse."

Which was why anyone visiting the bar tonight, including the guests at Warren and Karla's birthday party, would find themselves treated to a high-pitched -- and very long -- performance of I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General from the huge guy in the leather vest.

Bo's performance, they'd have to be very good at searching YouTube (or know Tiny's username) to find, and also fast enough to get there before Bo filed the fake DMCA takedown notice. Or the obscenity one. She was still trying to decide which seemed more likely coming from Disney.

Psssht, whatever Warren. Karla was most certainly not staying out of the hard liquor tonight. She was twenty-one! That meant she could drink in Eric's bar and he couldn't say a dang thing about it!

The Ebon-Gray made it damn hard for her to get drunk, but that didn't mean she couldn't give it the old Fandom try.

"Let's get this party started!"

Seifer wasn't planning on crashing, much. He just happened to be in for a drink and saw the party.

He would (attempt) to sneak up behind Karla though. "Boo."

"Hey...HEY!" Karla's eyes widened when she saw Seifer and she grinned, going to throw her arms around him for a hug. "Oh my gosh, look at you! What are you doing here? Did you come all this way for my birthday?"

Hugs were awesome things, Seifer would gladly accept one.

"I would totally lie, but you would see through that. I moved back a few days ago."

"Obviously to prepare for my natal celebrations," Karla joked. "Smart plan. I do intend to make sure this party lasts for as long as possible."

She squeezed him tightly before letting go. "So what brings you back here? I thought you'd settled down well in California?"

"Birthday parties should last for days, and leave people wondering where their clothes are at and why is there a tattoo in that particular place," he told her with an air of expertise.

There may be a story to that, Karla.

"I did, but things happened and I came back. And unfortunately, I forgot to get you a present, so you and Warren are going to have to accept awesome me instead." Because he was totally awesome.

"I knew I should have checked for tattoos that time we slept together," Karla said loftily. "But I was too busy being...what was I? An innocent and unworldly nun on the run?"

Oh, Fandom. The things you made people say.

"Nah, the good father wouldn't go marking up other people like that," he assured her. "At least not with ink."

Fandom, what a wonderful thing. Sometimes.

"I meant on you," Karla laughed. "But I'm pretty sure I was too busy trying to figure out if there were ninety-nine tents in your pocket or if you were just happy to see me."

"Ninety-nine tents?" Seriously, where did she come up with this stuff?

Seifer just grinned and tugged one side of his shirt up a bit, showing off an interesting tattoo (http://www.estoresbyzome.com/estores/2162.option_big.jpg). "This is new, but you did miss the fire cross on my back."

Hanging out with people who regularly shoved stacks of 99 items in their pockets!

"Yeah, I think I was too busy on my back to look at yours," Karla said shrugging. "Can I see that one, too?"

You were just gonna have to take your shirt off for the birthday girl, Seifer. How hard was your life?

Infinite packs of holding, Karla! Not their pants!

Though, it would explain where Zell kept his hot dogs.

He chuckled and pulled his shirt over his head, then turned so she could the stylized fire cross across his back. "There, happy?"

Just ignore the rings he was still wearing on a chain, okay? Okay!

Oh, Seifer, that was so cute, how you think that would happen. Especially with an engagement ring on Karla's own finger.

"Very nice," she said absently, ducking around his side to glimpse the warm metal. "And veeeery interesting."

Well, if there wasn't an engagement ring on Karla's finger, Seifer would be giving Warren some very dirty looks!

"Yes, and that's a story that's going to wait until after the party," he said, trying to keep the grin on his face as he pulled his shirt back on.

And hopefully for a while after.

Karla didn't believe that smile, not for an instant.

"Of course," she said softly, looking up at him with soft eyes. Then she blinked a few times and gave him a wicked smile that was only slightly forced around the edges. "So, it's my twenty-first birthday and you have yet to buy me a drink. Are you trying to make me spend it sober? For shame, Seifer!"

"Wait, buy you a drink? Wouldn't you rather have a tray of shots or something?"

Seifer was of the mind, if you were going to do, do it right. Or awesomely wrong. "Maybe a tray of shooters in neon colors that taste like candy?"

He totally would buy her that.

Awesomely wrong was the only way to go.

"I accept those birthday offerings!" Karla declared. "But make sure they're strong. If I don't end up dancing on a table by the time the party is over, I'll be quite disappointed and it take an absolutely ridiculous amount of alcohol to get me even tipsy these days."

"I accept that challenge," Seifer stated. He disappeared and returned shortly. "Order in for two trays of neon alcohol poisoning," he told her.

"Awww, you do love me," she said with a grin that boded well for nobody. "Are these all for me, or are we sharing?"

Rinoa might have managed to sneak up on Karla for a ninja-glomp, since Karla was hitting the liquor.

The effect was sort of ruined, what with her shouting "KARLA!!!!" and waving both hands.

So ... it was not really going to be a sneaky ninja-glomp, then.

"RINOA!"

Who wanted to be sneaky when they could be loud as hell instead? The cup was set down on thin air and Karla was doing her level best to tackle Rinoa just as hard as Rinoa was tacking her.

"Hi! Hi! How've you been! Hi!" It had been whole...months!...since they'd seen each other.

With significantly more children and less alcohol.

It had! And the presence of Pluma and every other child in the known universe had kept them from properly getting updated. "I'm good! We're here! I mean, staying. You knew that already! And I wasn't me for a bit and that was ... complicated but it's okay now. How are you? How's being Queen? I need such an update. On everything."

"Oh, I know all about the you not being you thing," Karla said with a huff. "I mean, I don't know about you, exactly, but we weren't us in Glacia, either. Warren and Raven were evil and I was so pregnant anytime I looked down, I half-expected to see a foot dragging or something."

Nice imagery, Karla. Real nice.

"Tell me yours was better?"

"I ... wasn't pregnant," she said, shuddering at the mental picture. "And they were evil? Both of them? Are you okay?"

She bit her lip, realizing she hadn't answered Karla's question. "Mine was more strange than bad," she explained. "I was ... I didn't know Squall. I'd been a Sorceress all my life. And I, um, made some friends, here, in ... really complicated ways."

Made some of the naked kind of friends. Awwwwwwkward.

"Really complicated?" Up went the eyebrow. "Is that code for 'Fandom-whimsy naked friends'?"

Because that was absolutely a thing. And why Karla knew what Seifer looked like naked. They were Fandom-whimsy naked friends.
