Bo Jones. Or maybe Dennis. ([personal profile] nookiepowered) wrote in [community profile] fandomtownies2014-04-12 05:34 pm

The Devil's Nest, Saturday, April 12th

"No." Bo crossed her arms behind the bar and ignored the balloon Tiny was holding out to her. "I already told you my terms. The whole thing or no deal."

Tiny held up his phone in the other hand, then made a show of putting it away. Bo just shook her head.

"No. I don't care if you record me. I'm just not doing it without the quid pro quo." She reached out and bopped the balloon lightly. "Every. Single. Verse."

Which was why anyone visiting the bar tonight, including the guests at Warren and Karla's birthday party, would find themselves treated to a high-pitched -- and very long -- performance of I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General from the huge guy in the leather vest.

Bo's performance, they'd have to be very good at searching YouTube (or know Tiny's username) to find, and also fast enough to get there before Bo filed the fake DMCA takedown notice. Or the obscenity one. She was still trying to decide which seemed more likely coming from Disney.

[Open! Karla and Warren's birthday party be happenin' in the VIP area; the rest of the joint is open to anyone.]

"I'm the Queen," Karla said, trying to sound haughty. "Your parents can't ground me. I outrank them."

Which was a far better response than pointing out she had to parents to ground her.

"Speaking of, do you think they'd like to come to Sidra sometime? For dinner? As a thank you?"

"No one out ranks parents," silly Karla. "It's totally a rule. And if Jaime's parents can ground me, mine can totally ground you. Although my dad is basically ready to adopt you."

Speaking of... "You won't let my dad near the weapons, right? I mean he's good and stuff, but he's a total otaku."

"I can try, but that means you get to explain to Julian why the males of the First Circle need to go unarmed," Karla laughed. "And now that you told me what you give your father as a thank you gift, what would your mother like?"

"My dad to stop bringing home weapons?" Momoko sighed in resignation, since she was totally not having that conversation with Julian. He'd learn the hard way. Or her dad would.

"They'll totally be happy just visiting you, honest."

"They get presents," Karla said sternly. "I'm not skimping on hospitality."

She took a sip of her drink and her eyes twinkled. "Besides, maybe this will stop me from getting grounded next time they hear about something I did."

"Nah. My parents are good like that." Momoko smiled proudly. "They'll thank you and send you to your room in the same sentence. Especially if they hear some of the stuff you do."

"Me?!" Karla yelped. "What do I do? I've been good for whole...months! Probably!"

"Besides disappearing for weeks? Getting sick? Probably not eating enough?" Momoko asked. "And that's just what I know of. If mom was here, she'd totally find out more."

... Momoko was totally wondering if that might be a good idea after all. Karla could use a good mom guilt-trip.

"I eat!" Because it was the only one of those Karla could honestly defend herself on. "If you had a staff as scary as I do, you'd eat all the time, too!"

The few times Karla had worked through dinner, she'd had to deal with a succession of servants bringing her food with a heaping serving of attitude. That was the worst.

NO. NO THEY WERE NOT.

"Then I will have no choice but to put bubblegum in your hair," Karla threatened. "And tell Cook that you only like kale. And turnips. She'll make some kind of kale-turnip-beet soup and make you eat it."

"I'll tell her you became lactose intolerant that same weekend."

This was going nowhere good.
