The Devil's Nest, Saturday, April 12th

"No." Bo crossed her arms behind the bar and ignored the balloon Tiny was holding out to her. "I already told you my terms. The whole thing or no deal."

Tiny held up his phone in the other hand, then made a show of putting it away. Bo just shook her head.

"No. I don't care if you record me. I'm just not doing it without the quid pro quo." She reached out and bopped the balloon lightly. "Every. Single. Verse."

Which was why anyone visiting the bar tonight, including the guests at Warren and Karla's birthday party, would find themselves treated to a high-pitched -- and very long -- performance of I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General from the huge guy in the leather vest.

Bo's performance, they'd have to be very good at searching YouTube (or know Tiny's username) to find, and also fast enough to get there before Bo filed the fake DMCA takedown notice. Or the obscenity one. She was still trying to decide which seemed more likely coming from Disney.

"No! I totally asked the same thing when I first tried it. It's awesome! realy sweet and totally doesn't taste like it has alcohol in it." Which was not a good thing, really.

"Oh, good, then I will try it," Raven said happily.

She took Momoko's offered drink and tried it. "Oh, that is good," she said. She was rapidly adding more favorite drinks to her list this evening.

Momoko beamed at her. "Right? It's my favourite! I always order it." Well, until she'd had a few. Then she drank whatever was shiny or on fire or Dinah handed to her... When sempai says drink, you drink.

"So, how bad was the weirdness for you?" Momoko reached out to tap Raven's hand. "Are you feeling better now?"

Raven dismissively waved a hand. "I am fine," she said. "Pleased it is all behind us. And you should really try the Loopy vodka. It is very good." She was going to recommend it to everyone.

"Loopy vodka? Never heard of it." She poked at Raven's dismissive hand. "Why don't you want to talk about it?"

"Because it is over and done and there is no sense discussing it any further," Raven said. "I would rather talk about...when are you coming to Glacia again?"

"Just because it's over doesn't mean it's done." Momoko sat back and lifted her Squirrel to Raven. "There's always the hangover."

She took a moment to finish her drink. "I don't know when I am coming back, yet. Soon, hopefully. I totally miss you guys, but besides school, I'm working a regular job so I can stay in the country and then doing hero jobs for Oracle."

Don't try to use logic, Momo. Raven was having none of that.

She lifted her own drink in return. "Fortunately, I can heal those easily," she said. "But I do hope you can visit soon. Sidra is a much different place when it is not at war. And you must see Philia! She is doing so much better now."

"But you still feel the pain." And remembered it. You can't fool Momoko. At least not for another Pink Squirrel or two.

"Is she happy? I mean it's a stupid question, since she's with you, but I worry that maybe she actually cared about her old owners. Even though they hurt her." Momoko sighed and signaled for another drink. "Did I tell you they got arrested for rare animal animal trafficking?"

Have some more Pink Squirrels, Momoko.

Raven shook her head. "No, you did not, but that is good news," she said. "And Philia may have cared for her former owners once, but they betrayed her trust. I do not think she misses them. She is still shy and anxious when strangers are near, but she has relaxed a great deal and is quite affectionate once she gets to know you."

"I totally knew you were the pefect person for her," Momoko smiled. "And you? Is she helping you?"

"I do not need any help," Raven said with a little shrug. "But it is nice to have a companion."

"You need someone to talk to who you aren't afraid is going to judge you or be afraid. Someone to give you love even when you dont think you deserve it. That's totally 'help'."

No, talking was to be avoided. She'd told Karla some of it, but she was still doing her best not to think about it. Sleeping was already hard enough.

"Well, Philia does not judge me, so I suppose I am all set then," she said lightly.

"I'm not drunk enough that I believe you, but I will totally let you think I do."

She finished off her drink and stared at the empty glass a moment. "I am drunk enough to admit that I think you need Philia, though. And that's why I gave her to you. I worry about you. In a different way than I do the others."

"There is no need to worry about me, Momoko," Raven said. "I am fine. I am touched by your concern, but I am fine."

Because drinking a lot and sleeping with vampires was completely normal, right?

Raven should be very happy that Momoko couldn't read ~~narrative~~ minds, or there would be no chance of her letting Raven alone.

"You're my friend; I'll worry about you all I want," Momoko argued, frowning slightly as a fresh drink was set in front of her. Was this her second? Third. No, wait, Jaime had bought her first one... "You worry about everyone else, so I'm going to worry about you."

"...Ne, Raven?" She poked at her glass. "Am I allowed to drink this one?"

"I am the Court Healer; it is my job to worry," Raven said. "And I am not worried about me, so there is no need for you to do so."

Logic, see!

She peered at Momoko's drink. "That depends on how intoxicated you wish to be tonight," she said.

uh..... Hmm. Good logic, there. Uhm. "Well I knew you when you were just Raven, so that totally doesn't count." THERE! Ha!

Momoko sighed and dropped her head to the table sideways to stare sadly at her drink. "These're so tasty. Maybe I should switch to water for the rest of the night."

"Perhaps, if you do not wish a hangover, though I can heal that, of course," Raven said. "I am not quite done, however."

She lifted a green-colored shot and grinned at Momoko.

"Ooooo!" Momoko stared at the glass. "What does that taste like?"

"It is called a 'Disco Ball,' so I suppose it tastes like disco," Raven said solemnly.

She lifted the shotglass to her lips and drank. The first taste was the cool melon of the midori, followed by fiery cinnamon. Oh. Interesting.

Momoko watched, leaning in closer as Raven swallowed. "Well? Well? Is it good? It looks like candy..."

"Teeeeellllllll me!"

Oh yeah, someone was going to need some healing after this night.

"It is very good!" Raven decided, though she was fanning her face as if that would cool the burning trail down her throat. "I have never tasted anything quite like it."

"Ah! And you drank it all? Raven!" Momoko pouted at her. "You're supposed to shaaare! It's a party!"
