"No." Bo crossed her arms behind the bar and ignored the balloon Tiny was holding out to her. "I already told you my terms. The whole thing or no deal."

Tiny held up his phone in the other hand, then made a show of putting it away. Bo just shook her head.

"No. I don't care if you record me. I'm just not doing it without the quid pro quo." She reached out and bopped the balloon lightly. "Every. Single. Verse."

Which was why anyone visiting the bar tonight, including the guests at Warren and Karla's birthday party, would find themselves treated to a high-pitched -- and very long -- performance of I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General from the huge guy in the leather vest.

Bo's performance, they'd have to be very good at searching YouTube (or know Tiny's username) to find, and also fast enough to get there before Bo filed the fake DMCA takedown notice. Or the obscenity one. She was still trying to decide which seemed more likely coming from Disney.

"I like to call them distractions." Because really, that's what they were. Lovely distractions of the crazy weird kind. "And as long as I finish my program, I don't care what the island throws at me."

He set his empty bottle aside and turned towards Kenzi. "So, what have you been up to?"

"Program?" Kenzi asked, interested. "And, ohh. Man. Working, like I said. Dealing with Island craziness this last month, turning us into different people. That was nuts. Uhh..." You know, it didn't seem like that much, when someone asked. "Totally doing stuff! Trying to convince Eponine to teach a class with me... oh, and hey, taking a class in Lithuanian. Mostly because of the food."

All of that sounded like typical Fandom. It was a good thing the island wasn't wired with CCTV, just squirrels. "Lithuanian sounds interesting. I was mostly learning Latin, French and German." Because, well, it was easier to read things in a semi-native language.

"And yeah, I got my undergrad in Medieval History and I'm going to be working on a graduate degree." He'd grown up and moved on from glitter posters to save the cows or whatever the hell they were about.

And butter statues! Don't forget those!

"Hunh. Cool." Kenzi was ... mildly jealous that he was doing that, and surprised that she was jealous. "So, you get a Medieval degree, and the island gives you a shop, what are you thinking it'll give you for a grad degree?" Kenzi tilted her head. "What are you planning on doing with it, anyway?"

Oh, the butter statues. What the hell were the teachers on.

Or just what was the admins on for hiring them.

"I hope just a party. And I was planning on teaching at a school in or around DC, but I ended up here."

"Where you can also teach, don't forget. 'Cause they're always looking for people." Kenzi slurped her soda and grinned. "So yay, glad you're back. Is the big guy still with you?"

And now the smile turned a little sad as Seifer shook his head. "No. Left everything behind the last time I visited Garden, which was a little over five years ago for me. You could ask Squall about him."

No big guy, no spells, and Hyperion in a box. Seifer's life was kind of boring now.

"Awwwww." Kenzi's face turned wistful. "Sorry, Seifer." She shook her head. "But hey, if you're here, you're bound to get some more excitement sometime soon."

"You just want to play with the big fire guardian. I see how it is," he joked.

"And yeah, graduation should be happening soon, right?"

"Well, sure, how often do I get to do that?" Kenzi snickered. "Yeah, it's in two-three weeks, I've lost track. Toby should be graduating then."

"See, clearly the island is plotting something, so excitement will happen."

And he was so looking forward to it, in a twisted sort of way. "So, you're robbing the cradle?"

"Hey!" Kenzi hollered, laughing. "He's the same age! We just, you know, had pretty big gap between us in our grades, 'cause of reasons." Like foster care and time on the street and needing to make up stuff. "...now I'm remembering what graduations are like, and thinking I need to take weapons."

"I thought weapons were part of the required dress for graduation." Especially ones with Vikings, or baby islands that spewed killer teddy bears and deadly dolls.

"And I can't say much, I turned 19 after starting here." Because, Garden.

"Well, that and popcorn for watching people panic." Kenzi had a small sadistic streak.

"So you're what, 25 now?" Kenzi checked.

Most anyone who stayed on the island had to have a sadistic streak just to survive!

"Close. Just turned 26 before Christmas," he answered. "Why? Thinking of upgrading the boyfriend?"

"Thinking of getting you to buy me a drink, Bo still won't serve me. Even though I'm legal in Canada. I ask you!"

"Well, then, I guess we'll just have to do that. Wouldn't want you to have to trek all the way over to Carita's just to have a beer." Because that would be rude.

"Think she'll shoot me if I just have you go over and get them for us?"

"No, but she'll withhold. For a succubus, she's remarkably strict about some shit." And Kenzi should know.

Seifer sighed and looked around for Bo to get them some beer.

"And yet, she still is walking around singing crazy ass songs." Which, was why this place was awesome.
