"No." Bo crossed her arms behind the bar and ignored the balloon Tiny was holding out to her. "I already told you my terms. The whole thing or no deal."

Tiny held up his phone in the other hand, then made a show of putting it away. Bo just shook her head.

"No. I don't care if you record me. I'm just not doing it without the quid pro quo." She reached out and bopped the balloon lightly. "Every. Single. Verse."

Which was why anyone visiting the bar tonight, including the guests at Warren and Karla's birthday party, would find themselves treated to a high-pitched -- and very long -- performance of I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General from the huge guy in the leather vest.

Bo's performance, they'd have to be very good at searching YouTube (or know Tiny's username) to find, and also fast enough to get there before Bo filed the fake DMCA takedown notice. Or the obscenity one. She was still trying to decide which seemed more likely coming from Disney.

"Well it's entirely possible she just told me she's too old to travel, and as soon as I was out of sight she went off to have adventures or yell at American Anarchists about how easy they have it.

"I have in fact heard her start a story with 'in my day'."

Momoko laughed. "Do you think she means the future or now?"

"I'm not sure, I thought she was talking about when I lived in Bordertown, but then she brought up stuff that I'm sure hasn't happened yet, something about fending off fascists with a snake motif."

"Are you sure she's really from your future? And not an alternate one?"

"Well given how unpredictable stuff can be, I'm pretty sure that any future is only a possible one. It really can be hard to tell if she's well, all there. I think her sense of time got kinda...squashed. And travelling to the past hasn't helped."

"I think she's sweet, just old," Momoko smiled. "Totally not crazy. Well, except how she keeps calling me Melanie."

"Oh she's awesome." Leda smiled. "And I feel just a little vain saying that. And I didn't mean crazy really. Just...a little lost sometimes."

"Ah! She's totally that," Momoko agreed. "But you can get like that when you really concentrate on something, you know."

"Where am I? Who are you?" Leda deadpanned. Then snickered. "Maybe once I really get used to concentrating on things I'll be able to handle it better." Ah those blissful, carefree days of her youth. Which according to Elven tradition, she was still in.

Momoko laughed. "You're not that bad! Yet. Just, totally easy to convince when your mind is on something else."

"I hope the nobles don't figure that out. Maybe that's why Leander's job is so important. He knows to keep the wrong people away when I'm dealing with important shit." She'd almost said 'affairs of state', but stopped herself.

"Well. That, and you wouldn't do a lot of the important things if you had a chance not to."

Leda sighed dramatically. "He is remarkably good at keeping my on task. Sadistic task-master that he is." But had a surprisingly good, if biting, sense of humor.

"That's because he cares about you," Momoko leaned in and bumped against Leda's side. "And he knows how much you don't want to mess up. Cause you're awesome and care about them all, no matter what you say."

"The ruler of Menahune visited recently," Leda said thoughtfully. "And he said something like 'you and I didn't seek this eminence, but if we don't do our jobs well, good and honest people will suffer. And we won't betray them will we?' As pep talks go it wasn't bad."
