"No." Bo crossed her arms behind the bar and ignored the balloon Tiny was holding out to her. "I already told you my terms. The whole thing or no deal."

Tiny held up his phone in the other hand, then made a show of putting it away. Bo just shook her head.

"No. I don't care if you record me. I'm just not doing it without the quid pro quo." She reached out and bopped the balloon lightly. "Every. Single. Verse."

Which was why anyone visiting the bar tonight, including the guests at Warren and Karla's birthday party, would find themselves treated to a high-pitched -- and very long -- performance of I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General from the huge guy in the leather vest.

Bo's performance, they'd have to be very good at searching YouTube (or know Tiny's username) to find, and also fast enough to get there before Bo filed the fake DMCA takedown notice. Or the obscenity one. She was still trying to decide which seemed more likely coming from Disney.

"I guess?" Dinah sighed. "It feels less like patience, and more like being chicken he'll run away from me again." She really, really would start crying if that happened.

"Then run after him. He's slower than you." Momoko squeezed her. "No. Don't do that. Just call me and I'll lasso him and bring him back to you. Hang him from the ceiling while you talk to him."

"No, no, no, no," Dinah laughed. Well, almost. It was more of a breathless chuckle. "I love you for offering. But no. This isn't..." How to explain. "You do that when someone's being stubborn. Or mad at you." She took a gulp of her drink. "Not when they're scared of you."

"He's not scared of you." Momoko got that much from the short text message she'd gotten from him. "He's afraid of himself. He's worried about you."

"Could've fooled me." Dinah sighed. "Scared of me, scared of himself, either way, I'm part of the problem. Not the solution. No forcing him to face the canary music."

"You're being silly. You can't not be involved in the solution. You are the solution."

"I"m the precipitant! I'm the thing that makes the explosion! ... If I'm remembering my chemistry right." Dinah hugged her. "I am not making the first move. If Priestly wants to talk, he knows I'm here."

Momoko sighed and eyed her fast-disappearing drink. "And what about the fact that you want to talk? You're important too, you know."
