"No." Bo crossed her arms behind the bar and ignored the balloon Tiny was holding out to her. "I already told you my terms. The whole thing or no deal."

Tiny held up his phone in the other hand, then made a show of putting it away. Bo just shook her head.

"No. I don't care if you record me. I'm just not doing it without the quid pro quo." She reached out and bopped the balloon lightly. "Every. Single. Verse."

Which was why anyone visiting the bar tonight, including the guests at Warren and Karla's birthday party, would find themselves treated to a high-pitched -- and very long -- performance of I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General from the huge guy in the leather vest.

Bo's performance, they'd have to be very good at searching YouTube (or know Tiny's username) to find, and also fast enough to get there before Bo filed the fake DMCA takedown notice. Or the obscenity one. She was still trying to decide which seemed more likely coming from Disney.

It was a good thing that Leda didn't tell Karla that, because after her conversation with Jack about being thirty while the rest of her friends were in their twenties, she might have just broken down and had a good, old-fashioned cry.

"I see you've gotten very regal in your advanced age," she said, giggling at the boop. "How wise and serene your subjects must see you!"

And then of course Leda now got to see an older version of herself on a daily basis. She was Queen and a divorcee at an obscenely young age for an elf, but now she was faced with a Leda who was ridiculously old even by Elven standards.

"Oh yes." Leda agreed, and her voice took on a very formal, posh-British sounding tone. "I have even mastered the Queen Voice for when I address the Nobles." She dropped the voice. "You have to put the capital N in there when you talk about them to their face, or get all sulky."

"I feel like I'm doing well when I manage not to sneer when I refer to them as aristos," Karla said with an easy-going shrug. "So long as I sound better than Jono does when he talks about them, I feel like I'm doing well."

"Most of the ones around now aren't too bad." Leda admitted. "But I still have to resist the urge to hire a few Gremlins to run loose in the council chamber every now and then."

"You and me both!" Karla agreed with a laugh. "I'd love to unleash some of the little green bastards on the aristos, then just sit back and watch them act out. It would be glorious."

"And it would be good for 'em! Even the best of them has a stick up their ass most of the time. You know how I get when I want to try to hide how I'm feeling? They're like that all, the, time."

"I feel nothing," Karla deadpanned, keeping her face as stoic as possible. "Mother Night. Make a new rule that unless they make at least one facial expression per hour, you're going to declare them legally dead and take their holdings for the crown!"

Remember, Leda, this was the female you'd called to help you stop a war. Look at your life, look at your choices.

"Hmmm, tempting, but a little too authoritarian for my anarchistic beliefs. I have however considered filibustering with Eddie Izzard and/or Monty Python routines just to shake them up."
