Fandom High 20 Year Reunion Mixer, Community Center, Saturday Evening

Much like the last time this event had taken place, it would appear to anyone who came to the community center tonight that whoever had been responsible for decorating for the reunion mixer actually had some taste. The decorations were simple - blue linen on the tables with gold flowers as centerpieces, and a notable lack of any tacky accoutrements - but there was, of course, gold and blue glitter scattered just about everywhere.

Don't tell us you hadn't missed it, old Fandomites.

Raven wasn't going to put on an actual name tag -- the glue on those stickers always bugged her skin -- but she did shift a little to mimic one. Not that she expected there to be any other blue scaly women for someone to confuse her with, but this was Fandom. You never knew.

You know, it was kind of nice being in a place where she wasn't going to be mobbed by lobbyists, reporters, critics, or ex-humans. Honestly, of all of those, the exes were the easiest to deal with.

Kathy put on her nametag that read Kathy Li-Bartamian in neat letters (she had to throw away the first one where she'd started writing 'Mayor' first), and looked around for familiar faces. Or not-so-familiar faces that belonged to familiar people.

Peter had seriously considered just staying at the hotel with his wife, but, sigh. Reunions, putting in appearances, blah blah blah.

He resisted the urge to write 'Hegemon' at the start of his 'Peter Wiggin' label, but it was a near thing.

It'd been at least a few years since the last time he and Ben had done anything like this. Ender stuck the 'Andrew Skywalker' tag on as his mind provided a running tally of dumb jokes about the even dumber name tag system.

He traded brief glances with Peter, but didn't approach.

Envy had a few options when it came to deciding what she wanted on her nametag. In the end, she settled on N.V. Adams. For old times' sake, though it would be best for everyone if no one took that as encouragement to call her Natalie.

After the nametag, she got herself a drink to slowly sip on while she took in the gathered crowd.

Lottie grabbed herself a name tag and hovered a bit afterwards, camera ready to take pictures of her fellow alums.

Mostly because some of the folks back in Tackleford still didn't believe she'd gone to high school with aliens.

Washington looked at the nametags for a moment, trying to decide if it was worth the aggravation of putting 'Washington' down on it. He wasn't exactly at the best point of his life when he'd been here last.

Not by a long shot.

Instead, he put down 'David' with 'Agent Washington' beneath it. It was good enough.

After spending some time talking to Adam earlier, Ronan showed up feeling a little more at ease with the whole thing. But not because of Adam. Please.

He bypassed the nametags. People could figure out who he was, if they wanted to know.

Dinah picked up a name tag, and wrote Dinah Lance-Priestly on it, then attached it to her purse.

What? People who knew her, knew her name. Anyone who wanted her purse deserved warning!

He was also probably ten years too old to be wearing leather pants, but ask him if he cared.

Jessica got to the community center, put on her nametag, and immediately made her way out into the group. It was time to mingle and say hi to all the people she had lost track of out in the multiverse.

It still said Jessica Drew. No name changes for her.

Kitty figured that most people who'd want to talk to her already knew who she was, but that didn't include everyone, and also the odds were good she'd start talking to people just because she didn't recognize them, so she slapped a Kitty Pryde-Barton nametag on.

Isabelle fixed her nametag on even though she didn't think it was really all that necessary. She'd lopped off most of her hair some years ago, and she felt like she looked more and more like her mother with every passing day, but didn't she also still look mostly like she always had?

Give or take a few decades.

She was smiling to herself as she looked around for familiar faces.

Naomi didn't have any issues with wearing a name and she put on one that read Captain Naomi Wildman.

Mercy was mostly here because Adam and Samuel were driving her crazy. Her arm still hurt like hell after being broken a few days ago and she was not at all recovered from everything that had gone done, but at least this got her away from two dominant werewolves trying to outdo one another.

Her name tag just read 'Mercy'. If anyone needed more than that, they could ask.

Blue stuck a name tag reading 'Blue Sargent' to her blouse, feeling vaguely like she was at a conference. At least she could leave off the 'Dr.' here.

She kept checking her phone because she was vaguely afraid her husband was about to buy something ridiculous in France, but it was late enough now that either she wouldn't get any more texts about it or his insomnia would take over and he would buy it before she even knew, so, whatever.

Okay, yeah, Sparkle had waffled about this for a bit, but ultimately decided that it couldn't hurt to at least come check this thing out. It wasn't like most people knew that the reason he'd fallen off the radar was prison, was it? And hell, maybe they wouldn't even know him to see him.

... Shit, there were people here that he didn't know to see, either.

Waking up where you didn't fall asleep was enough to make anyone nearly lose their mind. It'd take Jazz way too long to figure out where he was and why he was there. With everything going on back home, he'd completely forgotten about the invite to this reunion thing.

He hadn't even planned on going but apparently, this place had other plans. Phone out, Jazz texted with someone back home, telling them where he was and not to worry. He'd be back soon enough.
