3 Minute Dates 21 - Caritas - Saturday night
A sign was posted at the front door:
Caritas Presents:
3 MINUTE DATES
Unlike most 3MDs, there didn't seem to be a host. The zombies were just set up, all quiet, when the lights went out.
After a few moments, music started to play. A man's voice started to sing "Ooooooooh" while backing vocals repeated "come on."
The first chorus played before a voice that might have been familiar to longtime residents came up and completely failed to introduce himself. "Welcome to Three Minute Dates. I gave this CD to Tino years ago, just in case this thing I started turned a sexy, legal to drink in the rest of the country 21. In honor of that, have an open bar, courtesy of me, to make sure my name is never forgotten. When somebody reads your names or whatever happens, pair up, get drunk, and let those beer goggles take over for three minutes until this sound plays."
The song cued back up, singing, "You're hopelessly HOPELEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!" It was, perhaps, a mixed message.
"Have fun. And try not to bang too many people at once, like I'm definitely doing right now."
Finally the lights came back on. Jessica turned to Tino at the bar, taking a free drink, and asked, "Who was that?" Tino just shrugged. He clearly knew, but he was admitting to nothing.
[The Bar Before the Dates | Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3 | Round 4 | Round 5 | OOC]
[Regular post-dates Caritas post]
[OOC: Three minutes = ten comments total, five per person. You don't need to do your threads chronologically, but try not to Joss yourself.
OCDstarts now. If I fall asleep before it's done, don't mind me. I'll finish up when I wake up. ETA: That's happening. Final 2 rounds posted when I wake up. Feel free to start on the first 3 rounds now. FINALLY DONE!
If I made a blatant mistake, like skipping a character completely for a round or posting a pairing twice, feel free to grab me on AIM or in the OOC thread and I'll make a quick fix. Remember, attacks on your dates will get you teleported elsewhere on the island.
Also remember that most playing should happen on Saturday, but if you need to finish things up on Sunday, that's fine.
A regular post-dates Caritas post will go up Saturday afternoon sometime.]

Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
"We did," he said, returning that smile. "And now we've time to figure out the details, no?" He reached for her hand. "How are you this evening, fair Lucille?"
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
For a non-D'Angeline establishment, he meant.
"It will help me deal with the disappointment that we'll not have more time together tonight. Which I shall only truly get over if you promise that we can have more time later this week?"
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
"A glass of wine would be lovely," she said. "I will let you choose." She had very little knowledge of wines, and hoped Hyacinthe were better acquainted with the selection. "And I would love to meet you later this week."
She would meet him any time, even tonight. No, that wasn't quite true. She wouldn't meet him if she had agreed with Cassandra that it was an evening of reading together.
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
"Excellent," he said, smiling at her as he waved Tino over. He still hadn't released her hand, caressing it with his thumb as they spoke. "I've been looking forward to our promised...adventure...since we discussed it."
And when Tino arrived to take their order, he asked for a deep red for himself and then, after a long, penetrating look at Lucille, ordered the same for her. "At first glance, you look like someone should order you something sweet and light," he said, tilting his head to consider her. "You've delicate bones and pale skin and you sometimes almost look...fragile. The wine I ordered isn't like that. 'Tis dark, earthy, full-bodied and a little spicy. It seems far more your style than some insipid sherry that someone might order for you based upon looks alone."
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
"So have I." She would never confess to him that the thought of it had inspired some fantasies that she had indulged in in the mornings after Cassandra had left for her exercise.
And his words made her smile. It wasn't entirely a sweet smile, because it seemed he had at least grasped some of the qualities she liked in herself, if not the whole extent of them. "I assure you, I am not fragile."
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
"No, you're not," he agreed and he was smiling when he said that. "'Tis a quality that I appreciate about you. Fragile ladies are pretty to look at, but I would be loathe to touch one for fear of harming her. I like that I can touch you. For I very much wish to. Anywhere you're inclined to let me."
Re: Round 1: Hyacinthe / Lucille Sharpe
It had been quite enjoyable last time.
