3 MINUTE DATES

Unlike most 3MDs, there didn't seem to be a host. The zombies were just set up, all quiet, when the lights went out.

After a few moments, music started to play. A man's voice started to sing "Ooooooooh" while backing vocals repeated "come on."

The first chorus played before a voice that might have been familiar to longtime residents came up and completely failed to introduce himself. "Welcome to Three Minute Dates. I gave this CD to Tino years ago, just in case this thing I started turned a sexy, legal to drink in the rest of the country 21. In honor of that, have an open bar, courtesy of me, to make sure my name is never forgotten. When somebody reads your names or whatever happens, pair up, get drunk, and let those beer goggles take over for three minutes until this sound plays."

The song cued back up, singing, "You're hopelessly HOPELEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!" It was, perhaps, a mixed message.

"Have fun. And try not to bang too many people at once, like I'm definitely doing right now."

Finally the lights came back on. Jessica turned to Tino at the bar, taking a free drink, and asked, "Who was that?" Tino just shrugged. He clearly knew, but he was admitting to nothing.

[OOC: Three minutes = ten comments total, five per person. You don't need to do your threads chronologically, but try not to Joss yourself.

OCD starts now. If I fall asleep before it's done, don't mind me. I'll finish up when I wake up. ETA: That's happening. Final 2 rounds posted when I wake up. Feel free to start on the first 3 rounds now. FINALLY DONE!

If I made a blatant mistake, like skipping a character completely for a round or posting a pairing twice, feel free to grab me on AIM or in the OOC thread and I'll make a quick fix. Remember, attacks on your dates will get you teleported elsewhere on the island.

Also remember that most playing should happen on Saturday, but if you need to finish things up on Sunday, that's fine.

Atton's chief motivation for being here was general boredom. Being parked in front of a pretty girl who pinged as strangely in the Force as she'd ever done? He'd shrug it off. "Hey there," he said, raising his glass. (It had water in it.)

Didi' motice was about the same, coupled with a general feeling that she should spend more time talking to people on the island and less time flitting around attending to the rest of the multiverse.

"Hi," she replied, raising hers. (She had lemonade.) "What brought you out today?"

"I'm taking a break from my day job this month, and I figured staying inside all the time was probably wasting my vacation," Atton said. "So of course I waited until the last week or two before bothering to walk away from my vids. How about you?"

"I haven't been around as much as I should be," Didi answered. "I figured if I signed up for this, I'd at least get to say hi to people. And you're a people, so I did it."

"And I made it out of the house." Atton raised his glass. "To low expectations and meeting them?" he offered.

"Seems as good a toast as any," Didi agreed, clinking her glass against his. "So,what have you been up to besides hiding in your apartment?"

"Watching Netflix?" Atton offered. "Teaching the kids how to play card games..."

"That's a class now>?" Didi asked, and laughed at herself as soon as she had. "Sorry. I've been here long enough that I should know better. Anything can be a class if somebody wants it to be."

"Really, it's about responsible risk taking," Atton said wryly. "The card games just help, since I can't actually put them in danger every week."

"I guess maybe the school does have some standards," Didi said wryly. "Sounds interesting, though. Probably even useful."

"I like to--"

And that was... whatever that buzzer was.

"--think so," Atton sighed. "See you next time?"

"If not sooner," Didi agreed. "Later, Atton."
