Post-3MD Caritas, Saturday

Well, it wasn't as if Caritas was going to close right after the dates! The night was still so young that it was practically prepubescent, and so there was plenty of time for people to stick around and talk some more with the dates they'd most liked - or to talk to some of the people they hadn't been matched with.

Caritas was (still) open, please buy lots to drink.

So, it had been moderately interesting to watch the proceedings: the way people sat together for only a moment before shifting again. Wasn't something Octavia thought she'd be interested in trying, but weirdly fascinating all the same.

But now it was done, and she was left just nursing her green apple soda, almost awkwardly.

That good old disconnect from other people rearing its ugly head again.

[ooc: SP likely, but come bother her all the same!]

"A tequila," Seivarden told Tino.

She sighed as the glass was placed in front of her and threw it back.

"Another one."

Well. That was a big, fat waste of her time. Rosa was mostly upset because, out of the very viable and even enjoyable options she could have had, she'd gotten exactly none of them, and she also seemed to not understand that the whole point of this thing was to meet people you didn't already know.

But people she didn't know sucked.

People she did know kind of sucked, too, but that wasn't the point. They sucked slightly less.

She didn't know the Saturday bartender and she wanted to stab Tino in the face, so she didn't know how this was going to go over, but she was leaning on her usual faintly Rosa-shaped grove in the bar as she said, "Yeah, I'm gonna need a Diaz tonight."

She tried not to take advantage of the build-in free-drink thing because somehow Kitty thought that was a good idea, and she liked Kitty, but there were clearly emergencies that warranted it.

Seivarden sat down next to Rosa and placed a tequila shot in front of her.

"If you don't want it, I'll finish it. This is was really fucking pointless."

Yeah, that shot didn't stand a chance. It was practically gone before it had even been set down.

"What is with all these people that should know better thinking I'd ever say no to tequila?"

Seriously, people.

Rosa snorted, rolling her eyes Seivarden's way. "Glad to see you're a fan, though."

"It's all your fault," Seivarden said. "Anyway, I'm glad that thing is over. I thought dating was something people did to get laid, not to meet old friends."

Or enemies.

Kaidan wasn't in any brainspace to go home just yet. He had most of a pint of..well, completely non-alcoholic beer-looking lemonade, really, and he was damned well going to finish it.

He found his way to the lounge, found a seat in a corner with a good view of the exit. Slouched into it like he was deflating. The Radler's was set on the table and he leaned back to examine the ceiling for a bit.

It.. hadn't gone too badly, all things considered? He knew most of the people he'd sat with. Hernando had gone full meat-market but Kaidan knew that was just to make him blush.

Which it had, damnit. His face still felt hot.

Not that Hernando wouldn't cheerfully drag him off to a lair, but they'd already had the conversation about boundaries and even tonight hadn't bent them. He smiled a little. Payback was a thing. He wasn't sure how, but somehow, some way, someday, he would make Hernando blush in public. Then he would get it on video to treasure forever. Yes. Good. A plan. He felt better now that he had a plan.

God, he wished this wasn't a non-alcoholic drink.

"I will gladly take that blame," said Rosa with a firm nod. "And dating is supposed to get you laid. Whoever set this up has no idea what they're doing."

A ghost, a baby lesbian, pretty much someone's dad, and whatever the hell Magnus was.

And Atton. She still couldn't figure out if he really wasn't that bad, or if he only didn't seem bad by comparison.

Ugh. She definitely had a theory that this was either Tino's revenge on her for all those death glares, or it was the fault of those stupid squirrels that seemed to just get soooooo excited when she came up during Seivarden's radio.

And there went the rest of her drink, because nothing followed tequila and bitterness quite like whiskey.

"A beer and a--" Hungry, Eddie. "--chocolate martini?"

Ugh, his life was gross.

They make alcohol with chocolate?!

But at least it was a red letter day for Venom.

"Clearly not," Seivarden said, then smirked as Rosa finished her drink.

"Your turn. While you tell me all the details."

She didn't expect neither a drink nor any stories.

Funnily enough, that had actually all gone pretty well? Except the Seivarden date, Kanan supposed, but that had been round one, and had been over fairly painlessly, so he'd cope.

He settled back at the bar to look around at the survivors, a coke in hand that might or might not have had rum in it.

(It did not. He was being good.)

Well, then, Seivarden was about to be half surprised because Rosa at least wanted another drink and was not in the mood to argue about things like turns, so she made a gesture to Tino and a nod to his gesture back that showed that, yes, they may hate each other's guts, but they were very efficient communicators, at least, and two more whiskeys showed up, voila.

"You actually want to relieve those dumpster fires?" she asked, incredulously, before half her drink disappeared again.

Liam had wandered in to the bar about halfway through the... whatever was going on.

Three Minute Dates, the sign had said. He wasn't sure how much of a date one could have in three minutes, but everyone was a bit too busy to ask. So he'd settled in to the lounge to wait. He'd spotted some familiar faces in the crowd (and a number of unfamiliar ones, too, actually)- maybe someone would be willing to tell him how the event had gone?

Peebee felt that had gone fairly well, all things considered, and was going to have one last drink in the lounge to wind down after everything.

"Aw, did you just get here?" she asked, thinking she didn't remember seeing him at any of the tables. "You missed all the fun. Kind of a shame, really."

"Yours, not mine," Seivarden said, reaching for the glass and finding that she didn't mind not having to argue about who was paying. And it seemed impolite (that was a good excuse!) not to keep up, so she followed Rosa's example.

He was a writer, you see.

Brooke had signed up just to meet new people, had made at least one boy nervous, and overall had a good night. And now, drinks!
