"Where are all the glasses?"

Upon realizing that it seemed that all the glassware seemed to be entirely MIA at the bar that evening, Summer's accusing eyes went almost immediately to Tino, who shrugged and insisted that he had nothing to do with it! They were all there yesterday! He should know, because he was stacking them all!

Summer narrowed her eyes at him a little after that, now wondering if the glassware had decided to take a hike out of pure self-preservation until Tino managed to get whatever stacking urges he was having lately out of his system.

"You just better hope it's all back by tomorrow," she said. "I am not taking the fall for this."

And at least they had plenty of red solo cups!

Where there are apparently no glasses, but there's two bartenders, a ton of jello, and enough red solo cups to satisfy at least three high school parties.

Were you ready for some gossip, Summer? Because Seivarden was stuck on an island with too little to do, and there were things you should know.

"How are things going for your school-assigned friend? Has he had a breakdown yet?"

When was Summer ever not ready for gossip?

"Oh," Summer laughed a little at that, "I think he's doing great! I mean, who knows what he's up to right now, but I think he's going to be okay, though it might be a little rough for a week or two. It's like going through the Five Stages of Grief. He's firmly in that initial denial phase, and that's going to segue very naturally into anger next, then the bargaining, which usually involves appeals to the moose, and we all know how that goes, then a swing of depression and understanding why we have all these bars, and then finally..." She made a gesture, as if to indicate that this was the position that most people begrudgingly wound up in, "acceptance. It's just a natural process that most people just need to go through, y'know? He'll be fine, though."

He took her in stride pretty well, which showed....something. She didn't quite know what, but...she was optimistic about it!

"He refused to believe in the zombies," Seivarden said. "And different universes. And started rambling about things I didn't get."

It wasn't like Seivarden knew or cared who Sandra Bullock was.

Summer grinned faintly. "He'll get there. Eventually. Or just nope the fuck out, but time will tell. Like I said, Denial's the first natural stage, so we'll just have to be patient with him with our 'I told you so's....Although now I'm really curious about what you got him rambling on. He seemed pretty brief and to-the-point with me..."

Which was fair. Summer had both sides of the conversation more than covered.

"More like an efflux," was that even the right word? Eh, whatever, "of all of our glassware," Summer explained with a gesture toward the distinctly empty shelves that had once held a plethora of glasses. "So I'm definitely recommending beers tonight, unless you'd like to drink your nice scotch out of a plastic cup."

Which honestly Summer would love to see, but, you know...

"Fine, but find me something aged in a bourbon barrel if you can," Lucifer sighed, sitting back. "And the trip was... surprisingly good, after some bumps in the beginning."

He almost added an exasperated comment about Duke's enthusiasm in there, but after all the talking they'd done, that felt oddly unfair.

Something aged in a bourbon barrel was more than easy to find, everyone was doing that shit these days it seemed, and so Lucifer very soon had a nice red plastic cup of the very finest they had in front of him.

"Surprisingly?" she asked. "Were you expecting it to not be good?"

Lucifer made an amused noise. "Not yet," he said, "But then I'm not much of a picnic-goer."

Seivarden snorted. "No, who wants to look at people digging their hands into food. I went there to greet my new roommate. But Summer's school-assigned friend stopped by on Monday, quite confused."

At some point in her drinking, Jessica wandered over to drop in on her favorite drinking buddy.

“Haven’t seen you in a while,” she said as she sat down on the stool next to him. “How’ve you been?”

"I mean," said Summer, who was mostly just glad it was the glassware that took off tonight and not the generic beer, so that she could have one ready for Jesse practically before she even say down, "you tell me. That's all part of your job, right? Any good theories or speculations?"

"Sometimes the island likes to get us in the first weekend after a bunch of new people show up," Jesse said, reaching for her bottle. "It's usually nothing bad, just weird. So that's my best prediction."

Jessica paused a moment to look at the specials with some concern. “Bourbon?”

She looked around.

“I’ll just buy the bottle if that’s easier than finding a glass.”

True there were solo cups but that just seemed wrong.

A whole bottle? That sounded a lot like what Seivarden's drinking habits used to be like, and while she didn't miss it, Jessica's words made her a bit uncomfortable.

Which was probably clear from the look Seivarden gave Jessica. "I'm sure it's cheaper if you buy it by the bottle anyway."

"I just don't like drinking from something a college sorority girl would use," Jessica explained. "And I buy from the bottom shelf anyway."
