You know, for someone who had convinced herself that her leaving was a non-issue and completely inconsequential to the world as a whole (this one, anyway; obviously, fighting the Galactic Federation was a pretty big deal to the world being constantly theatened by them), Summer sure had been reluctant to bring it up to most people. Like, yeah, sure, she'd sort of talked to Rey about it last week, and since Beth actually had shown up, that pretty much sealed the deal, and she'd already taken care of a few loose ends like her class and her management duties at T&C, but....she hadn't really mentioned it to a lot of people and found herself weirdly reluctant to do so.

Because it just wasn't how she did things, right? She was her grandfather's granddaughter. It felt much more natural to just up and leave and that was that than anything else.

But tempting as that actually was, it also felt kind of wrong, so she figured she would find some sort of middle ground between actually telling people and just flying off into the great starry beyond in the one way she knew how to channel emotions that she didn't know how to deal with very well: jello shot specials.

Because that was what people were really going to miss, right? The jello....

There was a pause as Summer considered how to answer that.

"I mean, probably," she said. "I don't think I'll have as much time for making jello like I did the last time I was in space fighting off an evil galactic empire..."

Yup. That'll do it.

"Plus, it was kind of a bust last time. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be much more on the front lines this time..."

"And to think," said Amaya, who had absolutely not received a text or anything from any concerned bartenders, as she eventually made her way over to Seivarden and plopped down on the stool next to her, "I almost missed the last chance jello! I really should have been coming out for more of these Wednesdays, but, I don't know, definitely think Mondays are more my days."

Despite the praise for jello, it was a mug of ale Amaya lifted in greeting. "Seivarden. Good seeing you on this side of the bar again for a chance."

The last time Stark came into the bar he'd ended up in the pond getting pummeled by one of Faye's guests. Who had totally started it. The bruises weren’t gone yet but they were at least starting to improve.

"Hello, Summer," he said as he took a seat. "Why does it say last chance?"

That couldn't bode well. He was sure of it.

Summer's nose wrinkled as she was starting to see a big, gaping flaw in her plan. Maybe she really should have just treated it like any other Wednesday and not have made any sort of big deal about it, after all.

"Hey, Stark," she said, still not sure what the best way to answer the question was, which, yeah, she probably should have thought of before she made the board, and, uh, well.... "Um, because..." Damn, it was really harder to dance around this than she thought it would be! "I'm kind of heading out for a while. Don't really know when I'll be back, so this is kind of my last jello flight before heading out...."

It wasn't, actually, but Summer didn't know that yet!

"....no," said Summer, slowly, who really actually appreciated that interpretation of it, because could you even imagine. "At least, not that I'm aware of. Still plenty of jello to go around, but this'll be the last time I'm making it for the bar for a while. So I guess Last Chance is a little ~dramatic~, but, um, hi, have you met me?"

To be fair, Goose had only just met her recently, but, yeah. Point still stood!

Annie would have come in anyway, but last weekend she had met Summer's mom from space and it had been a long story at the time.

And now that she was seeing the shots and the 'last chance' of it all, she was giving Summer a fairly concerned look as she took a seat on a barstool. "Giving up the jello game?" she asked, lighter than she felt.

Yeah, Summer definitely owed Annie a story there, especially since that particular story led to...well...

Regret washed over Summer yet again as she wrinkled her nose and sort of wished she'd embraced time travel shit a little more so she could just rewind back to the moment of making tonight sign.

"Temporarily, anyway," she said. Temporarily probably? Hopefully? She didn't know, but that seemed optimistic. And as she considered dancing around things a little bit more, she realized who she was talking to, and, yeah, there would be no dancing around with Annie or Rey, she decided. Not unless it was because they were having a last night banger and a serious jam came on and they couldn't help themselves from moving, dammit.

"I'm going into space again," she said. "To help my mom." It helped, that Annie has (sort of) met her this weekend! "Like I said, it's kind of a long story, but, Clif's Notes version: Grampa cloned my mom, one of them stayed on Earth while the other went to space, she came back the weekend before last to kill Grampa Rick, but it turns out that she's being tailed by the New, IMPROVED Galactic Federation, which is kind of the resurgance of the Federation that was in charge back before I came here? Anyway, they tailed her to Earth and tried to arrest everyone and blow up the planet, but we stopped them by throwing Barry's pants," and Morty's, but Barry's was the better part, "into a laser, and now I can't sleep at night because my universe is doing the thing, Annie, the thing that Rey's universe did where the Big Bad Evil Space Empire is all back up on their bullshit, and I have to do something about it..."

That...ended up being quite a bit more than she was expecting, but, at the same time, it was Annie she was talking to, so, yeah, maybe not all that surprising.

"'Last chance' sounds ominous," he noted.

".....yeaaaaaaah," said Summer, who by this point, had definitely seen the error of her ways and side-eyed the specials board right alongside Jon, "I'm beginning to think I probably could have worded it better...

"But," she added, a bit more brighter and chipper because there was plenty else on that board that was much better than a sense of impending jello doom, "all the more reason to enjoy some while you can, right, Jon? Can I get you one? Or several?"

Eliot spotted him from across the bar and couldn't help staring just a little. He hadn't seen Jon since the night of the dates. But also he had seen Jon, over and over, in his damned dreams.

Seeing him here had Eliot bracing unconsciously, waiting for a bus to come hurtling through the bar, turning the whole thing into yet another nightmare.

Miguel saw the sign and waved at Summer as he sat down.

"Well, shock it. Who am I going to get to feed my newfound jello shot addiction?" he teased. "Are you heading out, switching jobs, or just giving up on the jello?"

"I could never give up on the jello," said Summer, looking positively offended that Miguel would even suggest such a thing, and then grinning a little, because at least with him, she knew he would be directly effected by this in a demonstrably positive way, because this meant that Rosa got her class back, just in time for October. So, um, you're welcome, Miguel? "But I am heading out. Space revolution calls. Turns out the Federation that took over my Earth a few years ago is trying to make a comeback, and, well, since fighting evil space empires is kind of my thing now, I couldn't exactly just say no, you know?

"Wanna go for the full flight?" she then offered eagerly. "Probably the last chance, unless Tino picks it up, but we all know that would be not only an insult to jellokind, but also a downright travesty."

God, she was going to be so grossed out if he even thought of trying!

Having heard the background, Rey didn't say anything when she came in. She just glanced at the specials and then at Summer questioningly.

"Should I be offended that as soon as I start becoming a regular around here you decide to head out?" Dwight said with a slightly teasing tone in his voice.

He head seen the sign and heard people talking so yeah, while he wasn't exactly one of her long-standing customers, Dwight knew he had to come in and give Summer at least the best send off that he could -if she really was heading off for a bit.

Amaya had received a text a little bit ago, asking if she was busy and if she could come on over to the bar to help out with something, and, since she really wasn't, she wasn't going to say no, especially since Summer had promised her a few free beers for her trouble.

But since they were trying to be subtle about it, too, she lingered a little at the bar before getting to business, also eying the specials board, but for different reasons than everyone else.

"Okay," she confessed, "most of them I get, but I'm going to have to question a few things about Little Green Men."
