After classes were over (or roughly, it wasn't like he kept track like some kind of creeper), he put on his favorite Hawaiian shirt from the Shenanigans--the Hot Dog Bigfoots--and headed down to the beach.

In a little while, there were four fires roaring merrily: three on different grills with a variety of meats, one sequestered just for pork products, and one for vegetarian options. Steve'd even sourced some fresh ahi again and was feeling particularly pleased with himself about that.

The fourth fire was a cute little bonfire with neatly stacked rejected Shenanigan shirts placed a safe distance from it, along with buckets of water and sand for fire safety (and because McGarrett had 100 percent been a Boy Scout).

There were coolers of drinks including one of beer with a sign--"If you are from the HS and take a beer at a cop party, you're dumber than we thought and are v sad for you"--as the only disincentive.

Come on down, Fandom! Say goodbye to the summer. Eat food, drink beer, get rid of polyblend if that's your thing...

So many muscles. Stark was looking, respectfully.

"Welcome, then. I'm Stark. I work in the clinic, and at the school."

Raiden was oblivious to the looking, because such was his way. "Oh, you might know my brother, then. He's a student. He's, uh, the one who's asleep all the time." At least, Raiden hoped there was only one kid like that.

That was ok. Stark was just being quietly appreciative of the view. And wondering if Travis would also be appreciative of the view if he made an appearance.

"He was in workshops with me this summer," Stark said.

Unless there was another one he didn't know about.

"Oh!" Raiden exclaimed. "Are you a student?" He seemed a little old to be a student, but Raiden was no good at gauging human ages and, technically, Gray was way too old to be a student. Like several centuries too old. The school didn't seem to care that much.

Stark shook his head.

"No, no. I teach, sometimes." Consistently for a while now, actually. "But in the summer some of the workshops are for everyone."

"Oh," Raiden said. "I...did not know that." He smiled. "Like you said, I'm new."

"Next summer you could take things, if you like. I usually have cupcake classes. And there are classes at the community center."

And he could take whatever horror Summer came up with for next year!

"Oooh," Raiden said. "Cupcakes. I love cupcakes. They're so small, I can eat a couple of dozen, easy."

You heard that right.

Stark blinked a few times at that. "Dozen?" he repeated. "At once? That seems like a lot."

"For most people I guess it probably would be," Raiden allowed. "But I eat a lot. I'm always hungry." He chuckled. "I'm a glutton, what can I say?"

"I like sugar but not quite that much," Stark said. "But if I ever need to get rid of extra cupcakes perhaps I should just bring them to you."

"They would definitely disappear," Raiden promised him. "I'll trade you for pizza, how about that?"

"That sounds good. I don't make my own pizza but I do like it."

Because who didn't like pizza, honestly?

Only extremely weird people Raiden didn't trust.

"And that's why you should come to the Pizza Planet!"

"I'll remember that."

Maybe he could bring Travis. They could enjoy pizza and the view.
