The Beach, Monday afternoon

After classes were over (or roughly, it wasn't like he kept track like some kind of creeper), he put on his favorite Hawaiian shirt from the Shenanigans--the Hot Dog Bigfoots--and headed down to the beach.

In a little while, there were four fires roaring merrily: three on different grills with a variety of meats, one sequestered just for pork products, and one for vegetarian options. Steve'd even sourced some fresh ahi again and was feeling particularly pleased with himself about that.

The fourth fire was a cute little bonfire with neatly stacked rejected Shenanigan shirts placed a safe distance from it, along with buckets of water and sand for fire safety (and because McGarrett had 100 percent been a Boy Scout).

There were coolers of drinks including one of beer with a sign--"If you are from the HS and take a beer at a cop party, you're dumber than we thought and are v sad for you"--as the only disincentive.

Come on down, Fandom! Say goodbye to the summer. Eat food, drink beer, get rid of polyblend if that's your thing...

"No, no," Steven said. "Kosher, so no ham, shellfish, that sort of thing. But animal products in general are fine. Loads of protein if you've got it."

That last part was 100% not something Marc cared about. But Steven was never going to stop finding it funny that Marc was the jock of the two of them.

"Oh," Raiden said. This was awkward. He hated not being able to feed somebody, but, "Well. Uh. I guess I'll have to talk to him about exactly how kosher he is to know if I can even feed him? Because I definitely don't keep a kosher kitchen. I can't guarantee anything has never touched pork. Or...anything else..." All of his knives had definitely been used for both meat and dairy at some point, he was pretty sure. Hell, that went for nearly everything in the restaurant's kitchen, considering how many pizzas contained both.

"Oh no, he's not that fussed about it," Steven assured Raiden. "More general idea is all. Wouldn't order a bacon cheeseburger sort of a thing. Any regular kitchen will do. Well, maybe not the Lobster Hut. Obvious reasons."

"Uh-huh," Raiden said. "Well, like I said, I'd have to talk to him about it, but if that's how it is I can probably work with it...we'll see."

"It'll be fine," Steven said. "He's less trouble than I am with that sort of thing." Which did come in handy when there weren't any vegan options but plenty for meat eaters.
