Prom 2023, Community Center, Friday Evening

This year's prom had an elegant black and white theme, and the Community Center was decked out with tasteful decorations that had all been covered in black and silver glitter. It was still fancy by at least some measures!

The food and punch were untainted (and unglittered) for the moment, and the dance floor was open for a fabulous time!

"Truthful is me," Charlie agreed and turned to Triumph. "And you our gallant steed! You look wonderful as well!"

She swung her arm in a circle. "Isn't this all wonderful!"

Graham took a moment to follow the swing of Charlie's arm for another excuse to look around the room and marvel and sigh a little bit more over the decorations and the set-up and the music and the everything, and then turned his grin back her way. "It sure is! I really like the black and white! It's understated, but elegant, without working to overshadow everyone else and their own outfits and bright colors! And..."

There might have been a little bit more than a leading tone to this next observation.

"Just look at all that room for dancing!"

"People sure did go all out for this, didn't they?" Charlie said, completely unbothered by her lack of finery. "They do stand out against all the black and white."

She turned and smiled at him. "All that room, huh? Who would have thought?"

"Sure is a shame," Graham added, with a lopsided grin and an overexaggerated scuff of his heel on the floor as he swung a leg a little bit, "to see all that room for dancing go s unused, too, don't you think?"

"Mmmm.... I suppose. Though... Stark and Summer seem to be enjoying it..." Sometimes she just enjoyed being a tiny bit evil. She'd grown up with the Aunties afterall.

"Exactly!" Graham enthused. "Just think of how many more people could be enjoying it, too!"

Charlie gave him her best innocent look. "You're right. Shall we start rounding people up and getting them out there? You could take the left and I'llt ake the right!"

How long could she keep this up? Well, the smile and laugh was bilding behind her innocent face.

Thankfully, she wouldn't have to hold out for much longer, because Graham was grinning back and sweeping forward a finger as he often did when he was proposing an excellent idea.

"Orrrr," he said, and paused for dramatic effect, "we could just get out their ourselves! Show 'em how it's done! Lead by example!"

"Now that sounds like a fabulous idea!" Charlie set her mandolin off to the side with a quick charm to keep it safe. "Let's do this!"
