Summer wasn't really sure when exactly this had happened, but, apparently, according to him, Tino had always been an aggressive Connect Four player, and he was leaning into it that evening hard by posting up a couple of the games and promising that, if anyone managed to beat him, they could have their drinks for free tonight.

She agreed to play one game with him, and she was pretty sure it was the most aggressive round of a game pretty much meant for children she had ever played without anything actually exploding. Tino did, in fact, win, and more easily than she would have liked to have admitted, and she might have gone for a rematch if he wasn't being so obnoxiously braggadocios about how swiftly and smartly he'd beaten her.

She almost warned him to chill, that it was just a game, but she could already tell that that could just end up in a lot of Connect Four boards being upended from the bar, and she did not want to deal with that.

It had been taken a day of Yelena sitting around in hotel room with her dog before the restlessness had kicked in. After wandering around the island for a bit she finally found a place where she could drink.

The zombies did give her some pause. She had no warnings about those. But seeing that no one else seemed to care, Yelena decided to put that concern in the "Worry about that later" category.

So she headed to the bar and eyed the specials. "Question. When it says Jello is that a jello shot or just some kind of dessert?"

"Jello shot," Summer confirmed, with a firm nod and a pleased smile, because those were really the right kind of questions she liked hearing coming out of a new face that she was pretty sure she hadn't seen before. "It's practically a Wednesday tradition around here. Obviously, I always like to recommend a full set, but if any particular one is calling your name, I'll hook you up. Also, hi, I'm Summer. Are you new here, or just new to coming into Caritas?"

"I am new to the island," Yelena said, a smirk tugging at her lips, "and also new to these jello shots." She paused, considering her options. "So, I’ll take all of them. And the featured cocktail, too."

She turned to Summer, her expression shifting to a polite smile. "Yelena," she introduced herself simply. "Nice to meet you, Summer."

Well, he had to check out the bar after being oh so awkward at Kitty to see what he was dealing with here.

"What the actual fuck?" Yeah, zombies were a new one! This place seemed good at keeping him on his toes.

"Oh good," Adrian said with a laugh. "I was a little worried I was the only one curious about them, and was trying to play it cool since nobody else seemed excited they were here."

"They're corpses." That now smelled like corpse and Fabreeze. "I don't know how people aren't more worried about this."

Well, apparently it was new resident night at the bar and who was Adrian to ignore that?

He wandered into the bar, blue-gray eyes bright with excitement and curiosity. It was too godsdamned hot for either his duster or his hat (and he'd thought Massachusetts was muggy in August), but he was still dressed all in black; a billowing black linen shirt with the sleeves rolled up to show broad forearms covered with a sprinkling of dark hair, and perfectly tailored black trousers that tucked into tall black boots.

The zombies were a surprise and he was definitely planning a closer look later, but he was irresistibly drawn to the bar itself where the (living) people were settled.

"Hello," he said with a smile as he took a seat. "Is this a dessert bar?"

Unlike the snarky Russian, Adrian hadn't heard of Jello shots.

Ooooh. Summer loved a good newbie night, especially when said newbies were certainly meeting the bar for the Everyone on this Island is Attractive mythos.

"It's a regular bar," she reported, "with the occasional boozy desserts every Wednesday. So, you know, if you've got a little bit of a sweet tooth, I've got you covered. You're new here?"

If someone didn't know about Wednesday Night Jello Shots, it seemed a pretty solid guess.

"That obvious?" Adrian asked with a laugh and extended a hand over the bar. "Adrian Blackwood, pleased to meet you. I arrived Monday, but I think the trip exhausted me more than I was expecting and I ended up sleeping all through yesterday, rather than getting up and exploring like I'd intended."

The trip...or maybe having not slept for a full three days before that. One of those.

"Oh. Look what the cat dragged in," Yelena commented in a dry tone. "Thank god you got rid of that damned hat. It was ridiculous."

"No, Boston is back in our hotel room," Adrian said. "Enjoying the air conditioning."

It have been something of a marvel for both of them, especially considering Baltimore's overall stickiness.

"And what's wrong with my hat?" he asked, injured while the narrative privately agreed with Yelena. "It's an excellently made witch's hat!"

Jon came in looking a little frazzled. Well, to be fair, that was his normal state of being.

He smiled at Summer, though. "Hello, Summer. Anything with Earl Grey sounds good."

"So the Creme Brulee and the cocktail it is, then," Summer said, having to smirk at that a little as she set the shot down first and then went to work on the cocktail with a little space for him to stop her if he didn't actually want everything with Earl Grey.

Which he technically wasn't getting anyway, because she was pretty sure she used some in the Long Island, too, but she figured she should go easy on Jon.

"And hey Jon. Good to see you pop in. How's it been?"

Adrian, the designated extrovert of the newbies, waved as Jon took a seat. "Good evening," he called. "Can confirm, the Creme Brulee ones are excellent."

Stark, unaware it was newbie night despite his radio reporting on a newbie just this morning, walked in as usual and leaned over the bar to kiss his favorite bartender hello as usual.

"Hi."

The jello was looking suspiciously not suspicious again.

"Not yet," Summer answered brightly, settling back after the now-expected kiss with a grin, while she grabbed a set of shots for Stark. "Did you think of any cool places for us to go tomorrow?"

Okay, the mask was getting a curious look, because Adrian wasn't going to pretend like it wasn't there, but overall, the kiss he shared with the bartender got more attention.

"Evening," he said with the ease of someone who just randomly talked to people for funsies.
