Caritas- NYE party!

It was New Year's Eve, and Caritas was decked out for the holidays. The bar itself was decorated with silver fringe, there were gold, black and white balloons arranged in corners (so anyone trying to hide either couldn't, or they could really hide), silver and gold garland hung from the ceiling, and Tino had even dressed up. Meaning he was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt that looked like a tuxedo. It was the thought that counted.

The zombie band was playing the hits, the bass player dressed in a dashing red velvet jacket for some reason, and Kitty had had fun with the specials for the night.

Kitty stared at Tino when she saw that last one added. "There's a USB-powered menorah because fire and drunk people is a bad combination and you decided to do this?"

Anyway. There was also a very easily accessible fire extinguisher on top of the bar if needed. Don't let it be needed.

"Funny you should say that," Adrian said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a baseball cap. "I'd put it on, but how could I say no to wearing a cool hat like this?" He gestured at his Happy New Year headband. "I'm festive."

Boston snorted.

Yelena eyed the baseball cap and smiled. "You are indeed very festive," she agreed. "I take it you like the hat? Perhaps you would do me the favor of modeling it for me?"

Adrian peered at her, suspiciously. "Why do I feel like this is somehow going to get me in trouble?" he asked, even as he tugged off his favor and pulled the baseball cap back on, giving her a grin. "Sufficiently modeled?"

Yelena's grin grew bigger when she saw the hat in place. She reached up to arrange a few of those curls so she could get a better look. "Sufficiently modeled," she agreed. "And no trouble at all, I assure you."

She gestured back to the party favor. "You may return to your festive look. And then maybe we can find something festive for you and I to do when the balls drop."

Adrian had to cough. "Ball," he corrected, trying not to laugh. "Singular ball dropping."

It was the New Year, not a thirteen year old boy, Yelena.

Yelena let out a snort of amusement. "I know what I said," she teased. "Just because I'm a hardass doesn't mean I can't make a joke every once and a while."
