It was New Year's Eve, and Caritas was decked out for the holidays. The bar itself was decorated with silver fringe, there were gold, black and white balloons arranged in corners (so anyone trying to hide either couldn't, or they could really hide), silver and gold garland hung from the ceiling, and Tino had even dressed up. Meaning he was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt that looked like a tuxedo. It was the thought that counted.

The zombie band was playing the hits, the bass player dressed in a dashing red velvet jacket for some reason, and Kitty had had fun with the specials for the night.

Kitty stared at Tino when she saw that last one added. "There's a USB-powered menorah because fire and drunk people is a bad combination and you decided to do this?"

Anyway. There was also a very easily accessible fire extinguisher on top of the bar if needed. Don't let it be needed.

"It's almost odd to see you on a day that's not a Thursday," Rey teased in greeting.

"Oh, dear," Lydia said with a smile to show she wasn't really upset, "that just means I need to get out more! Cafe Fina this week! Don't forget!"

"I will be there," Rey promised. "And I haven't been there yet!"

"I get the impression it's a bit more...elevated, although not too fine," Lydia said. "And when I was there to make the reservation the tableware was rehearsing a musical number, so it should be quite the experience!"

"Huh. How elevated?" Rey checked, considering the conversation with Adrian.

"Still quite casual," Lydia assured her. "You needn't worry that it shall be stuffy or anything of the sort! But if anyone feels like 'dressing up' a little, I don't think it would be out of place." Was that what she had been getting at? Lydia hoped so. She did so love for people to dress up.

"Adrian thinks I need to dress up more," she explained. "He was talking about finding an activity on the mainland if we go Supper club there."

"Mr. Blackwood is one to talk, with his determined attachment to the garb of mourning," Lydia scoffed, "but it is ever so much fun to dress more nicely for things, it's true!

"I must confess I haven't quite sorted out what we'll be doing with Supper Club yet." Lydia, time was running out on that. "I had thought some sort of a 'hybrid,' with a few weeks on the mainland and then revisiting one of the restaurants here...?"

"That would be fine by me. It's less work researching. I mostly just like seeing everyone, wherever that is."

Sap.

"I don't want to go completely off-island, as it makes it difficult for newcomers to join us by chance," Lydia explained. "And it would be good to explore the island's offerings more in depth. I also feel a bit bad leaving places like the bakery out, since they don't really serve supper, as such."

"Supper Club could be Breakfast Club one week?" Rey suggested.

"And perhaps Dessert Club, so we can patronize the ice cream parlor," Lydia realized, brightening. "What a splendid idea!"

"I like that," Rey smiled. "And maybe we can find a random week on island to dress up. For Adrian."

Which had started trying to get her dressed up more, but details.

"Do you think we could get him to wear a color?" Lydia wondered. "Or might that be a bridge too far?"

Rey knew enough people who dressed all in black all the time that him doing it didn't even register, really. But.

"He seems like someone who could be negotiated with," she reasoned.
