Caritas, Saturday- Three Minute Dates

Jaye was actually at work, and there early for once, which shocked the hell out of Tino. But see, she got to host tonight, and she was actually excited for it. She'd even brought popcorn to watch. Maybe someone could get slapped in three minutes and the slapper would end up in the pond. When people arrived, there was even a sign on the door.

When everyone had gotten there, Jaye took the stage, mic in hand. "Hey there, so you should all know how this goes by now, as we've had way too many for you to be clueless. Unless you're new. In which case, ha ha, suckers. So, dating sucks, so we get you through the process really really quickly. Now you can find out within three minutes that the person you're talking to is not the one you want to spend even four minutes more with.

"Here's how it goes: I call your name, and someone else's. You get together. You talk for three minutes, get to know each other, and then you'll hear this," she said, pulling an airhorn from behind her back to sound it. "Then I'll call your name with someone else's and you switch. You'll hear this sound," she said, blowing the horn again just because she could, "five times total. Any ques- good. Enjoy!"


[Three minutes = ten comments, which means each person gets five comments in a thread. You don't have to do these chronologically, but try not to Joss yourself. Slowplay is totally fine omg.

"Good call on the shellfish," he said with a grin. "Okay, my turn. I'm sixteen, I live in Karakura Town in Japan. I'm a junior. I'm not a prince, I used to do Karata. I have two younger sisters, they're twins, and my father is a hopeless cause."

"Oh, I like this introducin' stuff. Nice way to get to know each other, yah? I have no sisters or brothers unless I have halfs out there somewhere," she shrugged. "Dad's a carnie so the possibility is there. He's hopeless as well."

"Maybe it's a dad thing?" he suggested, he was not even going to imagine his father having any other kids. Considering the guy had stuck up a huge poster of their mother, it seemed pretty unlikely.

"It's not as bad as I thought it would be," he admitted. "That whole thing sounded rather tacky once I figured out what it was all about. But if it's just about getting to know people? That's alright."

"Maybe," she agreed. "Ma's an alcoholic but at least she stuck around and I know she loves me." Even in her strange deranged way. Amber knew it and that's all that mattered.

"For me? I don't date so I find this rather interestin'. Though how you can determine it productive in just three minutes is beyond me. And now our time is up."

"Huh. That was fast," he blinked and started to get up since they needed to move on to the next round. Even if she'd just said stuff that raised a whole lot of questions.
