Parents Weekend Brunch - Sunday morning in the park

Harvey didn't have too much trouble arranging the brunch in the park. Between the help of the rest of the StuCo members and oddly enough, Marshall (apparently he had a thing for brunch), Harvey hardly had to do a thing. And isn't that what being president is really about?

There was a harvest theme in the tent, with the tablecloths and napkins all in reds, yellows and oranges. Marshall even hand-made the autumn-themed centerpieces on the tables. There was also, of course, every kind of brunch food imaginable set up at the buffet table. There was probably even foods there that didn't even qualify as brunch. Harvey had a hankering for pizza earlier.

A sign was posted outside the tent:

"Hello, Mrs. van der Woodsen. It's nice seeing you again," Chuck said politely. "Yes, I got here the semester before Eric. Are you liking it here?"

Chuck always knew how to give great parent.

"Lily," Bart greeted with a polite nod. "Nice to see you again."

"And you, Bart," Lily replied, her nod equally polite. "I wondered if I might run into you. Are you staying at the hotel here in town?"

To Chuck, Lily nodded as well. "It is an... interesting island," she said. "Eric and I caught up yesterday. He's had some unique stories."

"Dad's got a suite there," Chuck answered for his father. "I'm surprised you two haven't run into each other yet."

"We must just be missing each other," Lily said, with a casual shrug. "Serena and I have a suite there, as well. Perhaps we'll see each other again before we leave."

"We might," Bart said, giving Lily a sly look when he was sure Chuck wasn't looking. "I didn't know Serena was here. Did you know, Chuck?"

"Yes, I spoke to her on Friday. I'm glad she decided to visit. I missed her," Chuck said. "Nathaniel is here visiting too."

"Is he?" Lily asked. "Serena didn't mention. It seems like the whole group is reunited, then; Blair must be happy."

Lily returned the sly look, being perhaps not quite so careful to be sure than Chuck wasn't looking.

"Yes, like one big happy--" Chuck stopped when he caught Mrs. van der Woodsen's look. He just smirked and tilted his head in thought. "--family."

Huh. That was interesting.

Lily caught the pause, but ignored it as Chuck being Chuck. "Well, it was a pleasure to see you, Ba- both," she corrected. "Bart, perhaps I'll see you in the hotel before we leave?"

"I'd love that. We can have a drink together," Bart said.

"Nice seeing you again, Mrs. van der Woodsen," Chuck said with a big smile

"A drink sounds lovely, Bart," Lily agreed.

A drink and whatever else they got up to. Bart's suite does have that stripper pole, after all.

"And you, Chuck," Lily replied. "Perhaps you'll come home for a visit at some point soon? You could drag Eric back with you."

"I'll do that," he promised. "I'm due for a trip back home soon."

Bart smiled at Lily as she left and may have been checking out her ass as she walked away. When he looked back up, Chuck was smirking at him.

"Good lord, son, you're not drunk already, are you?"

"What was that?" Chuck asked incredulously.

Bart sighed. He should have known Chuck was going to notice. "I don't know what you think you saw---"

"Come on, do you really think I care if you're sleeping with Lily van der Woodsen?" he asked. She was a hot lady. Chuck would hit it.

"It's not that, believe me," he said. He didn't much care what Chuck thought. "It's just Lily wants this to play out a certain way..."

"You're not to tell Eric or Serena, understood?"

"Understood," Chuck said, looking way too amused. "You going to marry her?"

He would absolutely love to have Serena as a sister. It would drive her crazy.

Bart smirked. "Finish your drink, son."
