Parents Weekend Brunch - Sunday morning in the park

Harvey didn't have too much trouble arranging the brunch in the park. Between the help of the rest of the StuCo members and oddly enough, Marshall (apparently he had a thing for brunch), Harvey hardly had to do a thing. And isn't that what being president is really about?

There was a harvest theme in the tent, with the tablecloths and napkins all in reds, yellows and oranges. Marshall even hand-made the autumn-themed centerpieces on the tables. There was also, of course, every kind of brunch food imaginable set up at the buffet table. There was probably even foods there that didn't even qualify as brunch. Harvey had a hankering for pizza earlier.

A sign was posted outside the tent:

"You could sub or somethin', just for now. Somethin' to think about for later on."

"...I think I'm just gonna head back to LA," BA said.

"Well, yah," he replied, sounding confused. "Whadya think I meant?"

"I mean, like after after. You know."

Odds were they couldn't be mercs forever.

"I dunno," BA said. "Not like big plans usually work out for us."

"Yah, I guess," he replied and went back to picking at his breakfast.

"Only Hannibal's ever seem to come together," BA said.

"Hey! What about that one time where we used my plan? You know, when Hannibal got seperated from us? It worked!"

BA filled his mouth with toast and shrugged.

Murdock just frowned a bit and went back to his own breakfast.

For about maybe five minutes.

"Oh dude, I gotta ask ya for a favor."

"Yeah?" BA said.

Now came the hard part.

"Er, could I borrow...your van?"

BA stared. "My van?"

"I take good care of it! That van's like a ... sister to me! Please?"

"I need it for a field trip I wanna take my class on." Plead on behalf of the kids, that might work. And maybe he could pout a little.

"Pretty please? With sugar and whip cream on top?"

"...it's for the kids?" BA said.

"Yes. I wanted to take them to a museum in the next couple of weeks. I don't have a big class, so I don't need a huge bus. The van would be the perfect size."

"So what, I'm supposed to drive all the way back here so you can borrow my van?" BA said.

"If you wanted to. I wouldn't mind if you visited more often," he grinned. "Or you could leave it here now and I could fly you back."

"I ain't gettin' on no plane!" BA said.

"After all this time, you still scared of a little ol' flight? C'mon BA. Outta all those other times we've dragged you onto a plane, you should be used to it by now."

"I said I ain't gettin' on no plane," BA said. "No means no, fool!"

"Man, you ain't no fun," he pouted. "We got all day to work out the details anyway. And I wanna finish my breakfast sometime this year."

"Then eat," BA said. "I ain't stoppin' ya."

"You too," he shot back and started in on his now-partly cold eggs.

Sometimes, he did talk far too much.

But now he needed to think out a plan...

BA got up for a moment, to go get some more bacon.

Leaving his milk unguarded.

Murdock just barely glanced as BA got up. But his attention was snagged by the unattended glass of milk.

The best plans were often the ones that had proven reliable.

He grinned.
