Parents Weekend Brunch - Sunday morning in the park

Harvey didn't have too much trouble arranging the brunch in the park. Between the help of the rest of the StuCo members and oddly enough, Marshall (apparently he had a thing for brunch), Harvey hardly had to do a thing. And isn't that what being president is really about?

There was a harvest theme in the tent, with the tablecloths and napkins all in reds, yellows and oranges. Marshall even hand-made the autumn-themed centerpieces on the tables. There was also, of course, every kind of brunch food imaginable set up at the buffet table. There was probably even foods there that didn't even qualify as brunch. Harvey had a hankering for pizza earlier.

A sign was posted outside the tent:

"I did see him in action the other day," Isshin remarked, stroking his square chin thoughtfully. "It is true that he no longer recoils away from the fine touch of a pretty lady as if it were about to give him the plague, there is no doubt about that, but there is so much more room for improvement! Maybe," and here it was that Isshin turned his attention toward Angela with a devilish smirk, "he only needs a few more friendly shoves in the right direction..."

...If she caught his meaning. He certainly liked this one better than the uppity blonde.

Angela arched an eyebrow, quirking an amused smile. "I'm not sure he'd appreciate that so much."

Make that definitely not appreciate that.

Not that it wouldn't entertain her, rather.

"Oh, he would!" Isshin, who, of course, always knew what was best for his son, assured her. "He just doesn't realize it yet!"

"In which case, I'm sure I can work on a friendly shove plan," she told him, smirking as she considered that. It probably translated as 'friendly shove in Ino's direction', but Isshin didn't need to know that.

"I'm very good at those." One day, the boy might actually admit to her there was something going on there. Just maybe.

Angela beamed broadly at him. Come on, it was basically parental support for all the teasing and trying to make him date she'd done. Like that was anything but awesome.

"Isn't it just," she said cheerfully. "And very nice to have met you, too."

She really didn't get what Ichigo had been complaining about with him.

Isshin chuckled and, because he was not known to be a man of a subtle nature, threw Angela a little wink. "The pleasure," he grinned, "was all mine."

For all that he was her friend's dad, and that made it... well, very weird. He was at least charming and Angela could go with that quite easily.

"And you're sure you're related to Ichigo?" she joked.

The proud sort of grin on Isshun's face should have left no doubt in his confidence in his paternity.

"Beyond a shadow of a doubt."

He knew Ichigo was more like him than anyone could ever realize...
