Parents Weekend Brunch - Sunday morning in the park

Harvey didn't have too much trouble arranging the brunch in the park. Between the help of the rest of the StuCo members and oddly enough, Marshall (apparently he had a thing for brunch), Harvey hardly had to do a thing. And isn't that what being president is really about?

There was a harvest theme in the tent, with the tablecloths and napkins all in reds, yellows and oranges. Marshall even hand-made the autumn-themed centerpieces on the tables. There was also, of course, every kind of brunch food imaginable set up at the buffet table. There was probably even foods there that didn't even qualify as brunch. Harvey had a hankering for pizza earlier.

A sign was posted outside the tent:

He looked up.

"He holds me a lot. Touches me, takes my hand, curls up with me. He knows I feel better for it, and he knows that I don't get it normally. That's all. We kiss, but..."

He shrugged.

"So have you and I. And Toby and I. And Ronan and I. It's a kiss."

Amber stared up at him. It shouldn't concern her...

...

Wait. Toby?

"Toby?"

"He came to the kissing booth. As did Ronan. As did Helen, if you'd really like to know."

Now he's looking at Amber, rather confused.

"Oh."

She turned beat red and looked away.

This stupid jealousy feeling just had to quit. It wasn't fair!

"Sorry."

"Is that wrong?"

He... really didn't know. There were plenty of books that explained how to be in a relationship, and he'd read them, but he couldn't find one that just explained how you're supposed to be with people in general.

She cringed. "No, Liir, it's not wrong. You're single. Kiss as many people as you want. I'm sorry if I made you feel otherwise by my nosiness."

"Well, it's not all right if it upset you," he said as he leaned down to peer at her carefully.

"It's not my place to be upset," she mumbled, her look sheepish.

He was quiet for a moment.

"That depends on why you're upset."

"I know it," she nearly whispered, not meeting his eyes. She was ashamed of herself.

"And you would think less of me for my thoughts."

He shook his head.

"I'll never think less of you," he told her, honest in his intentions even if it was a bit untrue without the last part, "at least, not for a feeling. A reaction."

"Yes you would," she nodded. She was ashamed of herself. Cal would be...

Well, she really wondered if he would care too much about her thoughts. Hard to tell, really.

"Just... kissing is kissing, right?"

"Until someone says different, yes. At least, that's how people have done it that I've seen."

She looked up at him, studied his face. She wished she could ask him certain questions, tell him certain things.

God. What was wrong with her?

She shoved a strawberry in her mouth.

He didn't know how to take that.

"Should I go?" he asked quietly.

Lips red, she shook her head. "Please, no."

Amber picked up another strawberry and raised her brows. "Strawberry?"

He nodded and smiled a little. He liked strawberries. He held out his hands, cupped.

Amber grinned and ignored his hands. She raised the strawberry towards his mouth.

He laughed and ducked down, closing his eyes and opening his mouth.

Grinning, she pushed the strawberry past his lips.

He took a bite not far from the stem and pulled back just a little, a smile on. The strawberry was ripe, sweet and acidic yet still firm. Not overripe yet.

"Good, hm?" she asked, disgarding the stem.

He nodded, eyes closed with a faint, happy expression on his face.

"Thank you. That was very good."

Amber giggled at his expression.

"Would you like another one?"

He nodded, almost like a happy child.
