The beach, after sunset Saturday

It was Chuck Bass's birthday and by god Blair was going to throw him a party.

By the time sunset arrived a section of the beach had been turned into a party zone. Green silk curtains had been hung up to help define the party space (and provide some privacy for anyone who wanted it). There were tables of food and drink ~~entirely moddable~~ which included Chuck's favorites ~~and product-placed Vitamin Water~~ as well as the birthday cake.

Music was playing, fires were lit to help keep things warm - all in all not a bad little birthday party on the beach.

All that remained was the party goers and the birthday boy.

That was fine, he didn't need a seat. And he wasn't going to take one without her offering either. He wasn't ~~Sam Winchester stupid~~ that dumb.

And hey, he was still alive. Chuck was so wrong.

"Does the green have any meaning? I asked Chuck and he didn't know. I thought I missed some bastard cousin holiday of St Patrick's Day."

"I'm improving on the idea of the Hamptons White Party," Blair said. "Green was the obvious choice."

She said that with a tone which implied only an idiot would be unable to see why green was better. Also with a tone that suggested green was her idea.

Yeah, he had no idea what a Hamptons White Party was but his smile didn't waver even if his train of thought did.

"Hamptons White, right." Yeah, didn't play that off too well. "It was a good choice. Green's a good color. First green party I've been to, at least. Gets that means it'll be memorable."

"It's the first ever." Blair had no idea if that was true but she was willing to act like it was. "I only throw parties that are worthy of going down in history."

"And I'm sure Chuck appreciates it," Hannibal said, glancing towards him. "He's told me a lot about you already so I can't see how anything you do would be routine."

He thought his flattery was spot on. Or, at least, not too bad.

"I never do," Blair replied.

She wasn't so scary. Chuck was all talk. "Just means you've gotta top this, right? And hope someone else doesn't top you?"

"No one tops me," Blair said, icily. Not that she had issues with the idea of whether or not she was Queen B.

"You don't even think it's possible?" he asked, almost curious. "I mean, what if a protege or something topped you? Or came close?"

"They would learn what a terrible mistake that was," Blair told him. "Painfully."

"Do you know like kung fu or something?" Chuck hadn't mentioned that and he could see it being true. Maybe.

"I know how to completely destroy someone's life to the point where death becomes a pleasant option," Blair replied, far too cheerfully.

"All righty, then," Hannibal said. She was kind of scary. Chuck wasn't all talk. "Uh, don't do that to Angela, please? I know she's a friend of yours."

Or, at least, Blair didn't want to annihilate her.

"Do I have reason to?" Blair asked.

"I don't think so but I'm requesting it anyway," he said. "Call it a buffer."

"That implies I somehow owe you a favor of some kind," Blair pointed out.

"Polite requests don't imply anything," he said. "I'm politely requesting."

"Angela is one of my circle," Blair said. Yanno, until such time as she gave Blair good cause to rip her apart. "You aren't. She could possibly politely request that I not destroy you."

"You destroy me, she's not going to want to be part of your inner circle anymore," Hannibal said. "And I haven't given you any reason to destroy me besides the unfathomable act of requesting something of you. Oh, the horror."

"Yet," Blair replied.

"You're very presumptive," Hannibal decided. "And judgey." That was so a word.

"I'm also done with you," Blair told him.

"My heart breaks," he said and rolled his eyes before walking away. "Have a nice night."
