The beach, after sunset Saturday

It was Chuck Bass's birthday and by god Blair was going to throw him a party.

By the time sunset arrived a section of the beach had been turned into a party zone. Green silk curtains had been hung up to help define the party space (and provide some privacy for anyone who wanted it). There were tables of food and drink ~~entirely moddable~~ which included Chuck's favorites ~~and product-placed Vitamin Water~~ as well as the birthday cake.

Music was playing, fires were lit to help keep things warm - all in all not a bad little birthday party on the beach.

All that remained was the party goers and the birthday boy.

"Big little sib!" Ino carolled. "Or is it little big sib?" Huuh.

"I don't think I ever really got the hang of which meant what, really, even though I should since it keeps happening. Hiya!"

"Hi," Jennifer said, glad to see someone she knew. "I'm good with either, really. Or you could just call me sis."

"Could I?" she said, delighted. "I've never had any sort of sister before!"

"It would be nice," Jennifer said. "Besides, it'd make the whole 'big-little-sib' thing simpler."

Ino beamed. "Sis it is then! How've you been? Are you settling in well? Do I need to beat up anyone who bugged you? I will, you know. That's my duty."

And her pleasure, but hey.

"No, nobody's been mean," Jennifer said. "My classes are interesting, and I've got a summer job, too. It's working out pretty well, I think."

"Aw," she said, wrinkling her nose cheerfully. "A good fight is always fun, but I suppose that's not the right attitude, right? I should be happy you're getting along well!" A beat. "And I am!"

Just... fighting.

"Where are you working? Is it exciting?"

"I don't think exciting is the right word," Jennifer said. "I'm working at Cabot and Associates. The local law firm."

"I don't know much about law," she said cheerfully. "We don't have many lawyers back home, so I've got no idea what you do there...?"

"Office work," Jennifer said. "Which is kind of tricky when these new computers are a lot more advanced than anything back home."

"Everyone uses computers for everything here," she said, making a bit of a face. "Is there a lot to learn for a law firm, that way?"

[As the mun snickers since she works at a law firm.]

"There's a lot to learn," Jennifer said. "But it's important stuff, since I want to be a lawyer."

Law-abiding. Sigh.

"Why?" Ino asked curiously. "I mean, I don't get it. You'd deal with people arguing and suing each other over the stupidest things."

"Criminal law," Jennifer clarified. "Lawsuits wouldn't be my thing."

Even worse, really. "I guess you're big on the whole justice and light stuff, yeah?"

"More like... want to make sure that people who do bad things get what's coming," Jennifer said.

"What's bad?" Ino asked artlessly. "I mean, not everything is as simple as that."

"Oh, that's an important part of it," Jennifer said. "Is making sure when things are gray that they aren't treated like they're black and white."

"How many people do you think really think like that?" Ino asked, looking innocent. "I mean, in the news, everything is black and white. I bet a lot of lawyers are that way too. It's easier."

[Crashing for the night!]

"Well, it's not the way I plan to think about it," Jennifer said. "I mean, there's a lot of lawyers who don't care about the ethics at all."
