The beach, after sunset Saturday

It was Chuck Bass's birthday and by god Blair was going to throw him a party.

By the time sunset arrived a section of the beach had been turned into a party zone. Green silk curtains had been hung up to help define the party space (and provide some privacy for anyone who wanted it). There were tables of food and drink entirely moddable which included Chuck's favorites and product-placed Vitamin Water as well as the birthday cake.

Music was playing, fires were lit to help keep things warm - all in all not a bad little birthday party on the beach.

All that remained was the party goers and the birthday boy.

"I was going to give you a gold star, Junior," Alex said, pressing a thumb against Griff's chest like he was sticking a star to it. "Congrats, little buddy!"

"Oooh, is it a secret relationship?" Alex asked in a stage whisper. "She like a priest's daughter?"

Griff glared at his jerkface roommate and crossed his arms, willing himself not to start a fight at a party. "There's no relationship, Karev, shove off."

"Man, why are you always messing with me?" It was like a teen version of Pauly MacLeod. Would this bully make him break his promise and jump?

He could visualize himself beating the piss out of Karev. He knew the exact moves to disable his opponent and leave Alex begging him to stop. Damn the consequences!

Griff looked at Karev for what felt like forever but was really only a moment. "Be careful, Karev. Everyone has their breaking point and you don't wanna see mine."

"Just a warning. Your only one." It was more than he'd given Pauly or that kid at the competition and he was starting to regret being good.

"We're so gonna be besties." Threats of violence didn't bother Alex. Like he hadn't heard those from people who were supposed to love him. What a crock. "Have a good party, Griff."

He'd gotten bored and now he was going to wander off.
