The beach, after sunset Saturday

It was Chuck Bass's birthday and by god Blair was going to throw him a party.

By the time sunset arrived a section of the beach had been turned into a party zone. Green silk curtains had been hung up to help define the party space (and provide some privacy for anyone who wanted it). There were tables of food and drink ~~entirely moddable~~ which included Chuck's favorites ~~and product-placed Vitamin Water~~ as well as the birthday cake.

Music was playing, fires were lit to help keep things warm - all in all not a bad little birthday party on the beach.

All that remained was the party goers and the birthday boy.

"Becauuuse," she said, drawing the word out, just in case that helped, "it's close, and there's music, and the beach..."

"Trust me, it's hot."

"What we're doing right now must be considered hot then," he pointed out. "We're close, there's music playing and we're on a beach. No need for dancing."

"With the dancing, you get the movement, and that, is the thing that really makes it."

"Not your best argument, sweetie," he said, using her own endearment and kissing her forehead. "You're tired."

"Shut up," she said with a certain amount of affection. "It's a great argument. There is nothing bad about a little bit of friction, you know it."

"Oh, I know it," he agreed, "but we can do friction in other ways that don't involve dancing."

"Will those ways be as fun, though?" she asked. Probably, but the dancing was riiiiight there.

Now was the time to look as cute as possible and hope he went for that excuse.

"Yes," he said and smiled at her expression. "I'm winning."

"Care to share any of these fun ideas?" Angela asked. "I can't assess if they're actually as good as you claim unless you do."

He was totally winning right now.

"Well, there's no dancing involved," he said easily. "And no clothes. That's a good kind of friction."

"But we can't do that here," she reminded him, smiling and leaning up to kiss him briefly. "Not unless you want to bring down the wrath of Blair."

"I've never met Blair and I already think she hates me on principle," Hannibal said. "Besides, the beach is big. We could sneak off and be back before she's any wiser."

"Or," Angela drew out quietly, stretching up a little closer again. "We could dance now, and sneak off later when we don't have to bother coming back."

She preferred that option.

Hannibal cleared his throat some, ignoring the fact that that particular plan didn't sound too bad. "Take out the dancing part of that and I'm good to go."

Angela shook her head. "I like the dancing part too."

"You don't get one without the other," she told him cheerfully.

His mouth dropped open and he stared at her. "That's not fair."

"Since when!" she laughed. "Is a little dance really so much to ask for?"

"You're tying dancing to sex," he pointed out. "That's devious and underhanded and low."

And almost working.

A little bit. The way she was pressing up against him could also be considered a little sneaky.

Honestly, she'd be quite likely to sneak off with him, if he danced with her or not. But, getting him out on the sand for that dance would be a great bonus.

"So, Hannibal, will you dance with me?"

"I can go one night without sex." He just didn't want to. And he was being competitive. "I've got two hands, I can rotate."

"But that's really not as fun," she guessed. "And don't lie and say you don't enjoy the dancing when you get out there. I know you do."

"But, I'd prefer to do the second thing first and then the first thing second," he decided.

Angela eyed him a moment, considering that.

"And we will actually do the first thing after the second thing?" she checked. Because really, so long as she fitted her dance in there somewhere, she could be persuaded.

"If you really think you're going to be able to walk after the second thing, sure." He'd just try his damn best to make sure she couldn't. "We'll dance."

"We'll dance later," she decided firmly.

Said in such a way that it sounded nothing like a challenge. Of any variety. Of course.
