Caritas- Saturday from 8:22 on

Kitty had no reason to participate in 3 Minute Dates, but she'd still shown up to handle the bar, and because it was really potentially entertaining. Of course, if anyone asked she'd probably say something like she wanted to make sure no one got so angry at a date that they did damage to the bar or something.

The bar was open for post-daters, spectators, and people who'd just wandered in on Saturday night, and your bartender was eying the puppy thing like she expected him to do something weird(er) at any moment.

"I think I came out of this having a date with Cade," Jessica said, looking up after a second headbar. "It's all your fault."

"Good job!" Olive said, holding her hand up for a high five that might never come. "Cade is cute! No, wait, Cade is hot. A little grungy, a little dumb, but who cares because look at his face."

Sure, Olive would never go there, but she could appreciate him from a distance.

Jessica looked up at the hand. Olive was going to be left hanging. "Okay, since you think he's so hot, let's trade places."

"We are not interchangeable, Jessica," Olive admonished. "God, Jessica. He wants to go out with you, not me!"

"We're both girls, he won't know the difference," Jessica said.

"He's not that dumb," Olive said. "You should just let him take you out and see what happens. Even if he's awful you get free food out of it!"

"Actually, I might not. Apparently he's taking me to a bar. And I'm not exactly a big drinker," Jessica said, holding up her soda glass. "So that'll be fun."

"Me neither, so I'm not the girl to trade with," Olive said, and because she hadn't been horrible enough today, she added, "You could always try Marsie."

"She already has Atton to deal with," Jessica pointed out. "I'm not sure I can force her to deal with both of them."

"So you see the Atton thing too," Olive said, eyes wide. "Yes! Not just me! It's totally love-hate-but-maybe-more-like-lust, right? She's in denial about it."

"No, I mean, she's already over there dealing with him right now," Jessica said. "... Why, is there something going on between them?"

Was Jessica happy to focus on someone besides herself right now? Yep!

"I think so!" Olive said, looking over at Sia and Atton now that she'd been given the idea to do so. "She won't admit she likes him but I think it's adorable."

"The only problem is that Atton will never like any girl as much as he likes destroying his liver as quickly as possible," Jessica said.

"And who better to keep up with him than our dear Marsie?" she asked, raising her brows.

"I'll give you that one. She's better equipped to take that challenge than anyone else I know," Jessica said.

Because she was drinking right now, and Jessica didn't know anyone else's drinking habits.

"Right? They're perfect for one another," Olive declared. "Dammit. If I can't be happy, I want you to go on a date with Cade and I want Marsie to get Atton and I'll just live vicariously."

"Okay, okay. He'll get the one date. Then I'll figure out how he tricked me into it in the first place, and go on to happily live single ever after and back you up in case you don't get to be happy, which you will," Jessica rattled off.

"Or you could get to live happily ever after and have lovely tiny tattooed scientist babies," Olive replied, ignoring Jessica's optimism there. Because no, she wouldn't get to be happy. Not how she wanted to like, right now, anyway.

"You just described the worst case," Jessica said, shuddering a little extra hard because, well, having boy memories still made the idea of giving birth seem like the most horrifying thought possible. "But if it makes you happy, sure, you can hold onto that horrifying delusion."

"I hear we might have kids show up at some point," Olive added. "Your little future genius-slash-delinquents might even visit sooner than you think!"

"I was being kind to you, why are you doing this to me?" Jessica asked.

"Because it's funny," Olive noted. "And I'm sad, so I need to laugh at something."

"It's okay, my pain is being expressed mainly for comedic effect anyway," Jessica said. "If there's one thing I know well, it's humor and mockery to help you does with your own stuff."

"So can I be Cool Aunt Olive when you have Cade's kids?" Olive asked. "What're you going to name them? I mean, not to sway you, but I think Olive Junior has a nice ring to it."

"Only if it's a boy," Jessica said. "Just for fun."
