The Park, Most of Sunday

Had the carnival changed? Retreated? No, but perhaps it had filled up even worse over the past twenty-four hours or so.

The look on that mustached man's face certainly exuded a certain amount of triumph as the lights went on again early on Sunday morning. He stabbed the ground with his cane and watched; if experience counted for anything, then there would be yet more pouring into his carnival today.

The feeding was good, here.

That scent of cotton candy rolled over the island once more, and the carnival's music touched what it could not.

It's a new day, Fandom. Come, enjoy it.

Sia was going to do her very best to stay out of the way of any flaming barbed wire, thank you.

"Impressive," she said, actually meaning that.

"Sorry about that!" Jessica mock-apologized. "I'm such a klutz. Did you want to talk about something? Or did you maybe want to give this a try? It's totally safe!"

"It seems that way, yes!" Sia lied. "I want to talk to you, but I don't want everyone to hear me shouting!"

"Then come right up!" Jessica said, lowering the pole for Sia to climb. "Don't mind the fire."
notconflicted: (seriously?)

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"I mind the fire quite a bit, actually," Sia said.

"Then I don't see how we're gonna have our chat, lady, because I'm not going down there," Jessica said before tossing the pole at Sia to see what would happen.
notconflicted: (force: push)

What happened was that Sia waved a hand to bat the pole away safely with the Force, and then she went ahead and gestured to bring Jessica down, too, being careful of the wire.

[identity profile] craftyladyparts.livejournal.com 2014-08-10 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Whoops!" Jessica called out. She wasn't sure what was happening, but she was damn sure grabbing onto her wire to either hold on or bring some of it down with her.

It was mostly the latter, though, since it being structurally unsound was kind of the point.

Jessica hit the ground with a thud as barbed wire dangled around her.
notconflicted: (got stuff to do)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Sia went ahead and pulled the barbed wire away with the Force. "We could have done this the easy way."

"You're a schtick-ruiner is what you are!" Jessica yelled. "And a cheater! Oh my god, SUCH a cheater."
notconflicted: (ponytail)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes, I really am," Sia said. "Stand up."

Re: The High-Wire

[identity profile] craftyladyparts.livejournal.com 2014-08-10 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh sure, you pull me down and now you want me to stand up," Jessica scoffed. "Make up your mind."

She wasn't budging. She was being kind of a brat.
notconflicted: (hug)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Fine," Sia said, and then sort of pounced on her, for hugging purposes.

Re: The High-Wire

[identity profile] craftyladyparts.livejournal.com 2014-08-10 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hey, get off me!" Jessica yelled as she tried to struggle. "Security! Security!
notconflicted: (hug)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"Stop resisting and let me hug you," Sia ordered, still hugging.

Re: The High-Wire

[identity profile] craftyladyparts.livejournal.com 2014-08-10 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why? What's the deal?" Jessica asked. She was still struggling, but less forcefully than she had been at first.
notconflicted: (hug)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Because you need one," Sia said, hugging her harder.

Re: The High-Wire

[identity profile] craftyladyparts.livejournal.com 2014-08-10 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Jessica was silent for several moments as she stopped struggling.

"Someday we're going to look back on this and laugh," she finally said. "Not a lot. And far in the future. But it'll get a couple chuckles."
notconflicted: (hug)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Sia was going to keep hugging her for a moment. Just in case.

"Are you still feeling murderous?"

Re: The High-Wire

[identity profile] craftyladyparts.livejournal.com 2014-08-10 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"I feel like murdering a picnic bench," Jessica said. "But that's it."
notconflicted: (hmm)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's... new," Sia said, but let her go and sat up.

Re: The High-Wire

[identity profile] craftyladyparts.livejournal.com 2014-08-10 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"The bench gave me a splinter that killed me," Jessica said. "Next thing I knew, I was up there. So that bench has it coming>"
notconflicted: (mostly neutral)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'd say it does," Sia agreed, even though that was weird. "You all right?"

Re: The High-Wire

[identity profile] craftyladyparts.livejournal.com 2014-08-10 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah. No new scars or anything from that. I'll be fine," Jessica sighed.
notconflicted: (mid-talk)

Re: The High-Wire

[personal profile] notconflicted 2014-08-10 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"All right, then let's get out of here," she said. "Or hug the evil out of other people."
