Had the carnival changed? Retreated? No, but perhaps it had filled up even worse over the past twenty-four hours or so.

The look on that mustached man's face certainly exuded a certain amount of triumph as the lights went on again early on Sunday morning. He stabbed the ground with his cane and watched; if experience counted for anything, then there would be yet more pouring into his carnival today.

The feeding was good, here.

That scent of cotton candy rolled over the island once more, and the carnival's music touched what it could not.

It's a new day, Fandom. Come, enjoy it.

Isabelle was a lot more wary coming in today. But she couldn't really stay away, could she? Flick was seemingly trapped here, and so were a lot of others. And she wasn't the researching type, so it was just best for everyone that she was here.

With weapons concealed under her clothes, and looking around for signs of trouble.

Tamsin wasn't entering the carnival, she was standing a respectful amount of feet outside of it. With a megaphone.

"Okay," she called periodically, "The eggheads think hugging the affected might solve this problem. Which is insane. Don't do anything stupid today."

There. That should inspire a couple of them to do something stupid so she wouldn't have to test out the hugging theory herself.

After yesterday's encounter with Cade, Jim hadn't really wanted to come back but he had. And he'd done so just in time to hear the announcement about hugging.

"Of course," he said, shaking his head. This place.

Sam had figured out something was seriously wrong with the carnival and today's announcement hadn't really eased him. He couldn't see how hugs would help and he wasn't sure if he'd participate but he was there, just in case.

Korra's attempts at entering the carnival the last few days had been blocked by a very insistent polar bear dog, but after hearing that announcement, here she was, going in, Naga pressed close enough by her side she could feel her growling.

This was stupid, this was insane this was horrible and Elsa couldn't for the life of her manage to justify being here. Why was she here? What in the world had possessed her to think that this was going to be anything but horrible?

Only... she'd lost friends to this place. Eleanor, Karina, Kathy... And then she'd heard that hugging could potentially bring them back. And hugging really wasn't something that she kept in her arsenal... ever... but she cared too much about her friends to not at least come here to see if there was some shred of truth to it all.

A tiny puffball dog was looking unimpressed by her side. Look, Barry appreciated Elsa's willingness to help and all, but there had to be better ways of saving the day than hugging it all out. And just as soon as he had some way of compensating for his lack of opposable thumbs to build a solution for this, he'd get right on that.

Irene...did not look her best. Granted, her not-her-best was still fairly put together, but if she looked like she'd been up half the night -- well, it was fairly easy to guess why.

She still hadn't managed to eat anything beyond a liter of Gatorade. The depths to which she'd sunk.

Today, though, she came back only because there had to be a way to stop this, somehow. And given the fact that people were dying here...look, she was morally questionable, at times, but she couldn't just sit to the side and let people die in a bloody carnival. Particularly when she didn't see a reason why she couldn't at least try to help. She'd survived worse than a little poisoning, after all.

But, Irene also wasn't stupid, so that was why she'd tucked her riding crop into one of the tall boots she was wearing over her jeans (unseasonable, but good for this sort of thing) and was checking the safety on the gun she'd hidden in the other boot when she heard the announcement about...hugging.

"Are you serious?" And here she'd really wanted to actually shoot something. Damn it.

Flash walked into the carnival more easily than people might expect from him. That probably had something to do with the Agent Venom body armor he was wearing. He didn't have the mask up yet, but he was still completely prepared for whatever the carnival might throw his way now that he had gone through the radio broadcast.

And he was ready to hug.

Cosette had been, as usual, visiting her father over the weekend. She was back earlier than usual, though; he'd said he had some important business to see to.

She passed by the carnival on her way back to the dorms, of course, but thought she'd go and change out of her nicer clothes first; it was in listening to the radio broadcast while changing that she realized exactly what was going on.

Her hat was slightly askew and one boot unlaced when she arrived back at the park, because she'd dressed in a hurry. After all, she couldn't just let classmates get caught up in all of this, could she?

But what could she do to help? She hadn't thought about that part, and was beginning to fret about it when she overheard Tamsin's announcement. Well then! That she could certainly do.

A stand in the middle of the carnival's clearing holds innumerable treats. Above all, there is the cotton candy, which seems glossy and full and inviting.

Surely taking a bite won't hurt. Or another. Or a third. The kind woman with the beard manning the booth will be happy to keep serving you... for as long as you want.

Carousel

A beautiful carousel sits just to the left. It's an antique and intricate work. Each seat is a horse, stretching out majestically, hooves polished and face nearly lifelike. The carousel makes wonderful music as it turns, and turns, and turns...

Mirror Maze

It's a hall of mirrors, bent in a hundred different ways. The light bounces off each one, back and forth - can you find your way out? Or will you be distracted by what you see?

Shooting Gallery

The man who staffs this gallery has a crooked smile and plenty of rifles to hand out. Behind him is a row of targets, moving back and forth: little wooden ducks and tigers and snakes and lions dance back and forth, waiting for your attention. Or... did one of those just hiss?

Fortune Teller

Ferris Wheel

This ferris wheel is somewhat old-fashioned, and not nearly as grand as the likes of it built today. But it reaches high in the sky, and it keeps rolling, rolling, waiting for more to enter and get a good view of the island and its surroundings.

Knife Thrower

A man stands in one corner of the carnival, flipping knives. Ahead sits a wooden target, at which he sometimes throws his knives. Just a harmless attraction - unless you'd like to join it.

Kenzi was there. She'd been down with the flu for a day or so, and mad at missing the carnival. Not so much now.
