In and Around the Woods, Sunday Afternoon
The shadows didn't want to budge. They liked it here, and they liked their toys, and maybe they would like to reach out, sometime, and bring in more...
Because the island would let them do that, wouldn't it?
It would be oh-so-cosy.
[[ FINALE POST! ocd up. ]]

Re: Find Your Friends
The bear didn't show the part where Eliot had gotten back to his hotel room and immediately thrown up. Where he hadn't eaten or spoken to another person for three days except to report in that the job was done. Or how close he'd come to just leaving everything, not just Moreau's employ.
But those parts weren't important, not right then. Because one of the three most important people in Eliot's world now knew exactly how awful he could really be.
"You can leave," he said. "They'll probably let you go now."
Re: Find Your Friends
And then she pulled her 9mm out of her holster and shot the teddy bear right through is stupid fucking head.
Seemed to be the weekend for headshots.
Re: Find Your Friends
Why the fuck did Kathy have a gun
Re: Find Your Friends
If he looked, he'd at least see her stance was correct and her finger was off the trigger? That was...something? Maybe?
"The next thing to show me something I don't wanna see is going to end up like Teddy there," she said, voice more weary than anything else. "Eliot, get up."
Re: Find Your Friends
Re: Find Your Friends
"It's away. You don't have to worry about me shooting - " She choked that comment off, too. She didn't want to lash out at him about the vision again. Not until she had time to...figure everything out, she guessed.
Re: Find Your Friends
“Thanks,” he said, eyes still downcast, and started shouldering his way through the army of things. They’d already done their damage, as far as he was concerned. Nothing they threw at him physically would really make a difference, at this point.
Re: Find Your Friends
God, Eliot, she was so fucked up and she couldn't even say she was sorry for it right now.
"I came in to get you," she said shortly. "Didn't sit through story time just to leave you behind."
Multiple arms of lightning rained down on the closest of the things, leaving them sparking, slagged, or incinerated.
Re: Find Your Friends
He hardly seemed to notice the lightning, just barreling forward, determined to get the hell out of these damned woods so he could go
hidebroodrecover in peace."You did it," he said, expressionless. "Good job."
Re: Find Your Friends
"Huzzah for me," she muttered, faking jazz hands. "So far I'm two-for-two for rescues."
As in both had sucked.
Re: Find Your Friends
"Hardison?"
She said she was there for him and Parker. Surely he was the other person she'd already rescued today.
Re: Find Your Friends
She - didn't want to get into it. And as upset as she was with Eliot, she didn't want him to worry overmuch.
"Raven saved Hardison earlier. I showed up when she was dropping him off. Something about not wanting to leave without you two."
Re: Find Your Friends
Re: Find Your Friends
She sent out more lightning. "Hardison didn't seem injured though. I think Raven said he was fine."
Re: Find Your Friends
It'd be just like Hardison to do something stupid like run back into the haunted death forest.
-- or not. Hardison was quite possibly never going to even approach anything that had more than two trees in a row ever again.
Re: Find Your Friends
Re: Find Your Friends
"You should make sure they ain't gotten into trouble," he said. He could see the edge of the woods now, and started heading for it again. "Parker lost a lot of blood before we got her stitched."
Re: Find Your Friends
Because odds were better that once he was with his boyfriend, he wouldn't go off and do something stupid.
"Raven was carrying Hardison in a fireman's carry when I showed up. I'm betting she can handle Parker just fine by herself."
Re: Find Your Friends
Re: Find Your Friends
Wait, no, that made it sound like there was something wrong.
"Wait, no, Eliot--"
Re: Find Your Friends
Eliot broke into a run, exhaustion of the last couple of days vanished in the mistaken assumption that Hardison was not actually okay. He made it out of the shadows and skidded to a stop just in front of where Hardison sat.
"What happened? Is it your ankle? Knees?"
He wasn't bleeding visibly, at least. . . .
Re: Find Your Friends
Kathy broke through the treeline a half-second later, still fighting off objects that had converged on her as soon as Eliot had broken away. "He's fine! I said he didn't seem injured!"
